As others have said, a sewer grate or another crumbling hole behind his left foot would be great to let light into the base! Also I don’t know if you’ve already thought of this, but having some glowing warp stones in the cavern would be pretty neat and flavorful.

Seeing Jon's obsession with buying all kinds of new paints that spend most of their time on the shelf, and minis that clog his closets with no sign of reprieve, and taking on huge projects that he knows are a bad idea from the outset but does them anyway, really helps me to cope with my own hobby inadequacies by reminding myself that even the pros suffer from the same hobbying vices that I do. But then he goes on to actually paint models and finish projects and enter competitions and win trophies. Never meet your heroes. -_-;;; /s love you Jon

I've seen a bunch of foam crafting tutorials where they glued the bricks down and then used a thined down plaster or Spackle or actual grout to grout the brickwork in after painting them and then used a wet cloth or sponge to wipe away 99% of the grout haze which gave both a great look to the brick/stone work as well as a good start on the weathering for those elements. It looks good with larger stonework but amazing with smaller red brickwork like your using.

Afew suggestions; 1. Crack the top surface to reveal more of the interior 2. Have a sea of little rats fill the empty space of the mordheim base instead of the cavern. Like the pied piper. Then add full sized skaven below. 3. Along the lines of the pied piper. Have rats running all up and down his cloak in excess, an attempt maybe make your horned rat stand out. 4. Maybe add a huge piece of warpstone in his free hand, suggesting him drawing upon the power to crack the floor etc / osl option later. 5. Add roots to the lip of the earth that has been raised up. I feel it has empty space and will help make that appear more as fresh earth and create some separation 6. The cavern could be lit up with LED or use green LED to map your painting with some camera shots. 7. If you hold any stock in complex basing pushing pieces to winners (since alot of the winners have insane basing) You could complicate it with burst water, more peep holes. The surface could have a dead body or two in parts with rats eating at them. 8. Lastly, you could create a similar hole at the very opposite size of the base so you can look right through it to catch a silhouette of action / drama / movement 9. On the painting side. You could bring in a chaos element with his foot being the site of action / magic in use. Painting a pentagram and having the light of that creeping into the cracks of the mortar and stone work.

Love it! The one thing I'd tweek at this point is the shape of the hole under Vizzik. It's a bit too symmetrical, giving it the appearance of a mouth (which might be cool in a Nurgly kind of way if you lean into it, but I don't think that's the vibe you're going for). Others here have had cool suggestions as well, I especially like the idea of led lights (green, obviously) in the cave, to make your work show more clearly. Anyway, awesome work! Looking forward to seeing your progress on it!

You could drill a hole underneath the plinth and rig the light switch down there. Alternatively, you could drill a hole on the lid and add a sort of pin switch disguised as debris, such as a metal pole, which you could then press to turn on the light.
