" The electricity comes in here and goes round and round in these squiggly things and then comes out here and goes back in here and something in here is bad we think!"...... @@twothreebravo I agree, but you need to be specific sometimes. I called the electrical supply house this morning and asked for " one of them squiggly things that makes the 'lectric' go round and round ". The parts guy said I would need to know if it was a " whatsamacallit" or a " thingamajig" brand. Plus, don't forget that some European models have the electric going counterclockwise.

Hey Cole, you mentioned cleaning out the cabs of the machines, in order to make it less attractive to mice. Another thing you can do is put a few drops of peppermint essential oil on the floor or other areas where mice are likely to make nests. They don't like the peppermint scent. (You can put the drops on a plastic lid or something disposable like that, if you don't want it directly on the equipment.) I put some on my tractor a few times a year, and haven't seen mice scurry anymore when I start it up.

When you pushed the button on the contactor and the washer started, that was telling. It means the entire power circuit is good. Now you have to dig into the control circuit and find where the failure is. Next time you have a device like that let you down, check across contactor's energizer contacts for continuity first. It could be the contactor's actuator coil is cooked. It's a fairly common failure mode and you just have to match ratings, it's a standard part.

And I hope Murphy settles down soon and leaves you and your equipment alone! 😕 Blessings to all this holiday season, and stay safe and well. With all of the modern electronics in cranes nowadays just about anyone could operate one. I have seen cranes with multiple cameras mounted on the boom the operator is able to see straight down and all around. With all of the computers and sensors in modern cranes you can't do anything too stupid because the computer will not allow operation. The crane will automatically calculate all the parameters for a lift including safety margins along extension angle.

I have a different theory.....”Loki”.....He’s the ‘Norse God of Mischief’. Ya see, Murphy wants to screw things up, and he doesn’t care if you die in the process. C’est la vie. Loki, on the other hand doesn’t want you to die, or lose a limb, or something else catastrophic. He just wants to make you so frustrated and angry, that you’ll start using words you don’t want your mother hear you using!...But in the totality of your observation, I agree...

Hey Cole, to save your truck interior and seats I'd recommend you get some good seat covers. And I mean get some Wet Okole seat covers. The are made from wet suit material, don't get hot in the summer or cold in the winter. Waterproof, stretch fit, you can choose the colors and very durable. I drive a '03 Ford Lightning. Had it since it was just off the line 18 years ago and I use it as a truck. It is starting to show its age and use but since the first month I had it I've had Wet Okoles installed. I'm on my third set and getting ready to order my fourth. My seats under the seat covers are still pristine. The covers keep sweat, food and spilled drinks from getting to the factory covers. They are easy to clean and easy to install. Since my truck is a regular cab with 60/40 seats and a center console the cost is just over $300, and that is the same price I paid for my first set in 03. They keep the value of your truck up and last summer I had an offer of $23k for my Lightning. No lie $23k for an 18 year old truck. I'm not a salesman nor do I represent Wet Okole in any way but I see the care and pride you folks show for your equipment and while after market floor mats are great to save you carpet, good seat covers save your seats. Who knows. Maybe they make combine seat covers and seat covers for your steroid injected tractor.

Cheers from someone who used to build those things for a living! You don't know pucker factor until 4 of your hydraulic jacks used to raise the bin to add a ring on, mind you those 4 are red headed into the pad, and they start to lean on you from a wind gust and you're 7 rings up already... 😅😅🙃 I've built brand new ones, used, hopper style(those suck) all over the country. Mostly the heart of the Midwest US and California. I can't believe how heavy those things really are.. Had bins before where the sheets were tin foil as we called it where you could bend them with your hands, and super heavy laminated sheets(6 gauge and below) that take 4 guys to lift 1 sheet. Mind you those super heavy ones I had to deal with were 8 gauge in Cali, during the summer.. 105 every day, 8 gauge, 3 rings of it too. Tons of fun. 😅

I think a lot of people would benefit from a basic electricity course of some kind. I grew up farming, got an electrical engineering degree, and now work for the electric company. I watch all the farm youtubers, and I gotta say a lot of the electrical issues you guys have might seem complicated (and people are skeptical about working with electricity and that’s ok too), but they’re likely very simple fixes. Invest a couple hundred in a good Fluke multi-meter, and from there it’s just coils, contacts, and load. Bin fans, leg and drag motors, pressure washers, even field equipment can all be simplified down if you have a basic understanding of what needs to happen. You guys are way smarter than a lot of electricians, trust me lol.

We had the same problem as on the power washer on a different type of unit but with the same electrical setup looks like and that "button" you are pushing in is part of the "contactor" which from the video it seems thats the issue, I ordered a new one online and swapped it out and that fixed our problem. Basically what that thing does is it has magnets inside of it and when electricity flows through it the magnet pulls in the switch and connects the two contacts inside (hence contactor) but the coil can go bad in there even on a newer unit (ours was less than two years old) and all the power runs through there so if it goes bad it wont run unless you push it in So i think you need a new contactor just make sure you hook everything up right and you should be golden, you can search up the one u need by the brand and specs written on the old one and find it online or some HVAC supply places have them cuz they are used on AC and refer units too.
