Do you use trebles on your spinners, as that first trout went back badly bleeding, singles better although you might miss a few,less harmful

I used ghillie on loch maree for good number of years plus other places in Sutherland. I used to find if you put a spinning blade in front of the Toby if trolling you got a lot more sea trout . I had use trolling in the latter end of working the it was only way people would fish as most guests were going north to Loch hope up by Altnaharra where ghilled for a number years . I hope this help you as it did for me . Plus I used the same method in the sea as loch maree emptied into the sea from the river yew was at my door step .

Do you use a link swivel to the nose or split ring and swivel ? If you fancy a wee bit of company some time give me a shout. Happy to drive) share petrol costs. When do the spring seatrout start running in the Clyde?
@theanglingfront11 ай бұрын
Hi John, I would say March, however, after doing some light rock fishing around the Clyde in the last few weeks, I have noticed a lot of Sea Trout activity, I even had a few follow ins when targeting pollock, I’ve also seen a lot of sprats still here close in which is what I’ve seen the sea trout feeding on, even in December!! Absolute craziness!

Superb fishing and footage mate really enjoyable viewing, I've always fancied giving the sea trout a bash from the coast but found it a bit daunting in knowing areas to fish, would you normaly concentrate on sea lochs or the open coast or both ?
@theanglingfront Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate really appreciate that, and I’ve never personally fished the open sea for them, I live next to sea lochs and my go rule is to find a area that’s shallow with a fresh water river going to to the sea? I’ve always caught them using that rule of thumb however I’ve also caught many of them over deep rocky outcrops to! They can be so unpredictable at times and frustrating, but that’s part of the fun 😀
@wildfishscotland6207 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply mate much appreciated, I'll have to get out and give it a bash, I've a few areas in mind with rivers close by that get sea trout so I'll gives it a bath 👍
