Hey John, have you experienced grip issues in the deadlift, and what exercises helped to remove those problems?
@MHB302 жыл бұрын
I have a bit with the cerakote on the kabuki bar. Doing rows and other deadlift variations without straps seems to help me with grip a lot. Farmers carries and long holds also work great.

Hi John I have a question, I have 2 deadlift days and I do 1 heavy day with low sets / reps and then one day with more sets and reps with lower weights but I’m not sure how effective it is. Would it be better to just have paused deadlifts instead of volume ?

Do you do any specific triceps work to assist your bench, or you feel that legs up/flat back benching helped you the most in getting your bench to that extreme elite level?
@MHB302 жыл бұрын
I’ll do bench variations that target the triceps a bit more, along with neutral grip db bench and some tricep pushdowns
@RobertSmith-xp1mg2 жыл бұрын
You have to keep in mind that John benches with a narrow grip. I think he mentioned that his pinky fingers are on the rings. Fun fact: Julius uses the same grip width
@entiliojones46962 жыл бұрын
do you have any specific squat goals, or do you just use your squat to increase your total? (it would be absolutely mental if u had all 4 records)

800 lbs is a special number. Also the record in his weight class is 805 lbs which is not too far either.

Do u squat without the aid of wraps and sleeves or are u wearing it under the tights?
@henriksvensson1262 жыл бұрын
That 355 kg squat looked pretty easy. A question, do you think it is a mistake to only do pause squats? Thinking if it can affect the ability to rebound in a negative way.
@MHB302 жыл бұрын
It seems like it does take a few weeks to get used to rebounding out of the hole when you switch from pause squats, but it does come back. I’d say if you are doing multiple squats days in a week, doing one paused and one regular is a solid method
