I had a taxi driver in Egypt that couldn't find the airport. I told him to look at the planes in the distance. You could see where they were landing. He told me that wasn't it. I just told him to pull over. I walked away and definitely was not going to pay him. Got a different taxi. Almost missed my flight.

Hah. That's rough when the taxi driver can't find the airport

I’m usually totally Zen and don’t sweat it when I travel, except when they lose my luggage or the hotel where I’m staying is not clean. Then they’ll see a side of a giant hairy BigFoot that they could be sure not to appreciate. 😂 Just imagine buying a whole new wardrobe and shoes in a foreign country for a guy 6’8”!

I don't care for the snow precisely because it makes everything so difficult. Seeing snow in movies is good enough for me. 😮

Under-shirt money pouches are fantastic when visiting high-theft cities/countries. I used them in India, Vietnam, Cambodia & Indonesia and had no thefts. I agree with always wearing bags in a way that they can’t be stolen (e.g. putting your head or leg through the strap.

The Japan third bed situation sounds like they charge extra for a third person, rather than charging you for extra bedding.
@YellowProductions8 ай бұрын
No... they had no issue with the third person as long as we were "bed sharing" -- it was definitely a bed fee

I have been on a flight where the purser announced that we were flying to a different city than where we were actually going. After a few minutes, there was another tannoy announcement saying that we are going to the expected destination.

This just happened on our last trip: We were headed to a cold weather destination, and upon arriving to the airport, my wife realized that she had left her coat at home, and there was no turning back. 😅

We flew from Tel Aviv to Istanbul. Our flight was delayed quite a bit and we ended up getting into Istanbul at 1:30 in the morning. We went through customs and got to our hotel about 3 AM. We were both exhausted. When we went to pay with our credit card in the cab, it got declined. We tried all of our cards, and nothing worked. The people from the Ritz Carlton actually came over and paid the cab driver and just added it to our bill. Everywhere we have been in Turkey our credit cards work, but for some reason the taxi cabs do not accept them. We’ve had trouble with this multiple times.
@YellowProductions8 ай бұрын
Wow.. that's nice of the Ritz.. I have to assume they must've seen visitors with that problem before.

The time I picked up a rental car in San Diego, I didn't catch the paint starching on the side because it was dark. It made me worry during the trip. I thought it was damaged in a restaurant parking let. It turned out the rental car company had it already in record.

My 2nd travel fail: we were a quarter of the way through our big EuroTrip that we had been planning for over a year, and we were in Athens, Greece, when the COVID shutdown happened, everything was cancelled. It took us 3 days and 5 flights to make it back stateside. 1 of those nights we had to sleep in the Frankfurt airport and another night we somehow ended up staying in the Dominican Republic 🤷🏻♂️🫠

Your first story reminds me of when I lost my luggage, luckily got it back in good condition though. I was flying from Helsinki (Finland) to Manchester (England). The airport staff at the luggage check-in told me to enjoy my "trip to Manila". I corrected them: "Manchester. I'm flying to Manchester." - "Oh, right. Manchester. Have a good trip." Well, the suitcase only followed me to Manchester three days later. They sent definitely sent it to the Philippines but never admitted it haha

My semi-travel fail: ANA rescheduled my flight and asked me to re-enter my personal information - which I did, but for some reason it always results in an error message on their website. I literally tried several hours to no avail, and finally called customer service. Turns out I wasn't authorized to enter my own information, which is strange because why would you ask someone to enter their information, but don't actually give them permission to do so? Eventually the problem got resolved, but that was extremely confusing.

One thing that I wanna share with you is that I did watch the video about travel fails but, I have experience a couple of travel fails. The first one was New Year’s Eve 2004, I was flying back from Chicago to Spokane with United Airlines, and we had a layover in Denver, and the flight was supposed to get into Denver at 7:27 PM, but did not arrive until 7:57 PM, and by next flight was supposed to leave at 8:10 PM, well, that flight left on time to go back to Spokane, we did not miss that flight but, we lost our luggage by the time we got to Spokane, we lost our luggage, we had to fill out the paperwork, my dad, my brother, and I, we were coming back from the holiday season, and they delivered our luggage to us, the next day, And Dan, we got our bags that I was the first one. The second one was, we were getting ready to fly home from Chicago from visiting family for Thanksgiving in 2007, and we were originally supposed to leave at 8:15 PM but, our flight did not takeoff until 9:20 PM, and I was super mad, because I really wanted to get a ride home from one of his friends, Sherry D from the airport, to our house, so then, we had to call and get Karin Green my stepmom to leave her car at valet parking for us so we can take it home, and then he be able to go out there and go pick her up at 5 AM because she was working graveyard that night, so we had to do that And that was a bit of a mess on that trip, and then the last one was, we were getting ready to fly home from Fort Lauderdale, back to Palm Springs, in 2016, my mom and I, and we landed in Phoenix, we we missed our flight back to Palm Springs, so they had to put us in a hotel overnight, and then we flew out the next morning back to Palm Springs, and that was kind of a mess when that happened so so Those are the travel fails that I wanted to share with you and another one, back in 2011, I was coming home from Chicago on the Empire builder which is Amtrak, and that train run 19 hours delayed getting into Spokane. It was supposed to get in at 1:40 AM, but it did not get it until 8:43 PM that same day because of the fact that we got into a train derailment between, Boston, Montana, and Harbour, Montana. So those were the travel fails that I wanted to share with you.
@collinfossell8 ай бұрын
And another comment, that I forgot to share with you, with that, we were one time flying back from Palm Springs to Spokane, and the first stop was in San Jose, California, and then we got to Portland, and we waited in Portland for three hours, and then they told us that the flight couldn’t take off that night, because it was too much ice, too much snow, And they just couldn’t let the plane leave, so then, they had to shuttle us from the airport to our hotel, and we had to stay overnight in the hotel, and then they shuttle us back to the airport to catch our flight to go home so, that was also one of our travel fails that we Experienced

about London, YES my daughter and I were sitting in the hotel restaurant where we stayed in South Kensington , a person sat right near us, (the restaurarant was nearly empty) but as we were at hotel restaurant we thought Okay but, sure enough , her bag was riffled through and her IPhone was stolen. We spent the next 2 hours at a police station, to no avail, and the hotel, where we were staying denied any responsibility. So it taught us a lesson, youre not even safe in your hotel's restaurant

Hello Chris, how long does it take to go to Grand Canyon west rim from las Vegas airport? How much is the general entry fee? I don’t want to go on the sky bridge. Is it worth to visit? Thanks

2.5 hours from Vegas. General Admission is about $55 without the Skywalk. I'll have a whole video coming out on Grand Canyon West. But you can also watch my vlog of it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqaapn-Jd7WrecUsi=vGLPcmUgQPIy27Vu

Excellent info as always. There is one thing, however, that I would respectfully disagree with... whale watching. I did this in Sydney back in September. You get on the boat in Circular Quay, and it takes you out to the "Humpback Highway" that the whales follow north up the east coast of Australia during that time of year. We saw dozens of Humpbacks breaching. I felt like I was watching Star Trek IV 🐳. We also almost got ran over by an Aussie Navy destroyer. Their naval ships have little kangaroos painted on the sides... cutest thing I ever saw... 😂
