It's not in your Amazon list now, but found it with a quick search. A handy tool I never knew existed, I'll likely need it for a bike that's been on SORN since March '23 when I get my arse moving to sell it.

Push pull cables were not just a “safety” idea. With slide type carburetors the engine intake can be great enough to cause the slide to stick even with a return spring, so a second cable allows you to overcome this and close the throttle 😉. Many older bikes with CV carburetors and a butterfly valve had a single cable and the throttle sleeve had knurled knob at the bottom that would apply friction to the throttle sleeve and act as a cruise control……the safety nanny’s took them all away 🙁.

I did not know that! Thanks!

@ The solution before “push pull” throttle cables was to have a very strong spring in the carburetor to return the slide. Start multiplying that by more carburetors and just holding the throttle open becomes a chore. 😉

I'm too scared to mess with anything related to the throttle

4:44 is the cable damaged? Looks like the GT85 comes out.

I talked about a couple of fraid strands on the return yes? they are not in a bend point so it will be fine for a while, but I now know I need to replace them IDC.
