You are correct as an owner of a 23 goldstar I get some verbal abuse when I say its been trouble free and is a great machine I base it on my experience with it and after riding motorcycles 90cc to1400cc from 1970 if bsa has a problem it's a few not so good dealers

Hey Spicy! I have a slight issue with my Adrenaline 2016, i just bought one for £500 off a coleuges son and im having some issues. Let me preface with this is my first manual choke bike ive ridden. I start the bike and adjust the choke until its warmed up then i close it off again, i stick it innfirst gear and whenni ease off the clutch it feels like i have to give it more revs than i should to get it to start moving. I can ride a little bit but when it comes to slowing down/stopping with the clutch held in it will die, the revs just drop down, then i start it again and giventhe throttel a brap in N and the revs will come back down and it will stall again. Its starting to really infuriate me as i dont have the money to take it to a garage for a diagnosis. Do you have any clue as to what the issue could be?

I was thinking to go with 520 on my r6 but i think ill stick with 530 for now 😅

For anyone like me who failed first time, chances are you just lacked the confidence or skills. But I went to a different instructor for my 2nd attempt and the difference was night and day. Obviously I had a little bit of knowledge from my first attempt but sometimes a change of instructor can be a massive help. I definitely wasn't great my first time round but having an instructor that will help you understand and learn from your mistakes will be a massive boost to your confidence.

The bike is aimed at the older rider. I started my riding in 1973 and I can remember a lad at college with a Gold Star which we used to gather to watch him start it and ride down the drive slipping the clutch and blipping the throttle to keep it running. The new Gold Star has very similar looks but all the benefits of modern technology. I bought one in December 2023 and paid full price but it’s a keeper so I don’t mind.

I would say that EFI has a quicker response than a carb, just my opinion not that it matters. I can't believe they've knocked down the multistorey CP for retirement flats it was one of the best things they done to Havant town centre in recent years along with the Meridian centre and the Langstone flyover (to which Hayling island benefitted most). It was a draw for people like me that had moved out of the area but were still close enough to drive the extra few miles for a sensibly priced shopping area.

Could you ride where ever you want on the roads with a flip plate as long as you use it for the right things?

Not a touching bike story but had some guy try to use the water on the air pump when I was pumping up my tires last week, he parked his car so close to the front of my bike. I explained to him that he’d have to wait as the water requires a separate payment, he then decided to get heated. Luckily, his wife had a bit of sense and called him back in the car, at that point he wheel spun his car out of the petrol station.

I always ride with camera on. But just don't always speak to the camera. Or... speak allot and decide it isn't worth, so ctrl-a ctrl-del. ;) Nowadays GoPro does that for me by just crashing once every 3 times I start it. xD

In China people seem to think your bike is for their pleasure. I’ve had to yell on several occasions when people walk up and sit on my bike. One time a young woman burnt her leg on the exhaust and had the nerve to scold me. It’s the culture here but I don’t subscribe to it. I have gone so far as to pack a fog horn so when I encounter these twits I engage the loud horn. Gets their attention.

I worked in a greggs drive thru for a bit, took my bike a few times. The last time was when a 10yr kid climbed onto it. I ran out to tell him to get off his grandparents just said "oh sorry" . The guy who saw it happen as he walked in was corrected in saying "that's what happens when you can't give a kid a slap on the wrist or tap on the back of the head anymore". What would happen if my bike fell and the kids leg was trapped. Not a big bike but a cb500x is a decent size tbh.

Had something similar a couple of years ago. The WW2 living history group I belong to put on a small display at a 40's themed wedding and I took my Enfield as part of the display (it was outside the display as we were under a canvas shelter to keep the sun off us) I was inside, chatting to people about the various bits and pieces we had out and then I hear a shout from the other member of the group, who'd nipped off to use the facilities, saying something to the effect of "oi! He's got to get home on that!" I poked my head outside and saw a rather voluptuous lady trying to get off my bike!! She started to have a go at us saying stuff like "if you didn't want people to sit on it, why did you bring it?" I calmly replied "if you had asked before taking the liberty, I quite probably would have said yes, but now you've ruined it for everyone else." When I'm at a show with the bike, I'm quite happy to let people sit on it as long as I am with it and they ask first.

Tbh I was thinking at the start "God I wish I could park my bike in a tesco car park round here without it getting nicked" Bikes have become completely unusable as primary transport round here (North East) because it'll be gone if you take your eye off it for 10 minutes.
