I am a labor and delivery nurse and hearing your story gave me chills. Alyssa I am so glad you continued to advocate for Sam! I have been in situations like this from the nursing side, but hearing it from your perspectives was so powerful! I am so glad that you we’re supported by caring and knowledgeable medical staff! Your family is so beautiful and it’s wonderful to see you both at home enjoying your kiddos. Sending so much love.

I don't know you guys...Just a fan of your vidoes for several years, but I think the "mom" in me kicked in. You are the age of my daughter, so when you were talling the story, I just wanted to hug you both. My heart goes out to you Sam...and Alyssa. I could not imagine watching something like this happening to "my person"! Wilder getting stuck must of been tramatic enough, but OMG! So glad you are doing well now Sam. Wilder is a beutiful baby! Oh, and Sam, when my daughter was old enough to know what I meant, I used to call her my little "hemorrhoid" because she was being a pain in my as which started before she was born. She rolls her eyes, so it doesn't work. LOL. Wishing you all good health! Sending love!

You did great, especially keeping your eyes open. That's the hardest part. My experience with blood loss (not in childbirth) was the same. All the senses get fuzzy and you have a choice to stay alive or not and you decided to stay. As you know, birth is an experience of extremes in each stage, and especially in dynamics. But like I said, you all, clinicians, family and you two made it turn out perfectly. Pain feels different for everyone so don't worry about comparisons.

When I delivered my second surrogate baby, I had this exact experience during an unmedicated birth at 35 weeks. Ptsd is real from birth trauma. It took months of therapy for me to feel ok. I still sometimes panic now when menstruating and see the blood. Baby boy is nearly a year old and my husband and i still deal with the effects of such a traumatic experience. I wish more people talked about birth trauma and the supports available. I'm in Canada but it was difficult to find the support right away. I suffered far to long before getting the help I needed. Bless you both for sharing your story ❤️ and continue to take care of one another.

god alyssa, that sounds terrifying to have to witness. i am so glad you're both okay and that sweet wilder's home with you and avery! sam, you're such a champ, we already knew that but you pull off new levels of badassery every day! wilder and avery are incredibly lucky kiddos to have such wonderful parents who care for each other so much. sending you so much love and light today and everyday!! it's such a privilege to be in your lives and i appreciate you both for taking the time to tell such a scary story and to relive it all - it's people like you who speak openly about things intense like this who give peace and comfort to those who don't feel as compelled to share. could not adore you both more. also, when sam started to cry i absolutely lost it, and sam that hat is so cute it suits you!!

OMG!!! So this was scary to hear. I knew it was bad, but not this bad. I'm SO glad Sam is ok!!! I can't imagine being either of you in the situation. Even though Alyssa was advocating for Sam and doing all she could for her, she still had to feel so helpless and just petrified. And then poor Sam not being able to even verbalize anything really and thinking I'm going to die and leave my wife and our two children....gives me chills. I'm so happy that you are all home and healthy. We need you two and more people like you. Baby Wilder is precious!!! Much love being sent weirdos!!!!!

From someone who works in the medical field, at the lab, with assigning people the correct blood, ten minutes from call-in to delivery is quick(depending of the closeness of the bloodsupply and the person needing it). I don't know the differences between here in Norway and there, but making sure you ain't giving the wrong blood-type to a patient, can be a matter of life or death, so taking the one extra minute to make sure everything is correct at the lab(correct ID, blood-type, a bag that's of good quality and correctly packed for transport), is crucial. My record for getting the call until the blood is picked up is 7 min(+2 min for the blood to get to the room where it was required and another minute to start the drip). In my professional opinion, only based on your side of the story here, they probably should have asked for the blood earlier, but it taking ten minutes, is not long at all.

I gave birth in August 10 and after a 3 day long failed induction they finally decided for a c-section wich is what I wanted, it saved my life. I had placenta accretta and i lost more than 3 liters of blood. I don't remember much but never the less, it scares the hell out of me the idea of a second pregnancy, it is traumatic. It is a near death experience. The weird thing is that doctors were secretive, like they minimized it everytime. Still healing. Wish you the best, we are strong mamas 💪

So glad everything turned out okay. And speaking as a child whose mother had the same hemorrhaging issue while having me, eventually youre able to look back on it and not be terrified. Im almost 32 and my mom now jokes ive been her problem child literally since birth. She can remember the doctor throwing me like a football to a nurse and thats about it. But all was good in the end. Now its time to enjoy your family of 4( 5 if you count moose)
