Hi Keelan, thank you so much for sharing your story! Usually I put EN subtitles since I am a japanese, but your explanation is very clear so I can understand. I started learning blender few month ago and I found your amazing tutorials recently. Since I watched some random tutorials on KZbin, your video is the best! Every time I made blender arts with your tutorials, I really enjoy blender and more interested in 3dcg art. Moreover, I love your voice XD Sometimes it is hard time that I can't make things what I image in my head, but I will keep trying and do my best ! Again, thank you so much! Lots of love from one of your Subscriber.

I worked as a banker for 7 years and then I quit my Job because it was too hectic and damaging my life, working up to 12 hours daily non stop, after quitting in between the time im looking for a new job, i came across blender, never heard about the software before because i was never in the 3D industry, i got inspired and probably found something i love, started learning basic stuff and object editing tools, took me about 2 months of learning and practice and then start modeling some cool stuff, still learning as there is much and much to explore to learn, but in the end im glad to say I found something i truly love. Thanks for sharing your story.

I started trying to actually learn blender during lockdowns (Prior to that point in time I had been off and on again trying to learn it by myself for like 6ish years), but I definitely feel like I have mostly finally figured out a good enough portion of it to make stuff (at this point I think I have hundreds of incomplete models, and only like 10 ones that I've actually rendered out), but I have too high expectations (despite knowing I've only just really begun) and it is a massive drain on the motivation to even open the program. Biggest hurdles for me I have a hard time focusing on learning these sorts of things via a video tutorial, partly because I don't like noise when I'm trying to focus on doing something brain intensive (like even when I was a kid, I had to mute game sounds if I was having a hard time with sections), and the other part because for some reason it just feels like someone is looming over my shoulder watching me.

Hi thanks for sharing :) We're all different types of learners so it makes sense that not everyone can sit and watch a video tutorial, there are lots of written docs on Blender in addition to books that are fantastic resources! For me its the opposite, watching videos by myself makes me feel like I can take as much time as I want rather than sitting in a class where someone really is watching over your shoulder xD Maybe I'll need to make a video discussing other ways to learn Blender 🤔 Good luck on your Blender Journey :)
@NarveeStudios2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nervatel, I started my blender journey very recently too, and I can relate with one or two of your feelings like "too high expectation" and "massive drain on the motivation to even open the program". You know sometimes as we watch many tutorials we get to a point internally where we say "I can do this too!" and as we start using the program we realized we can't or there's too much friction getting something simple done. We stubble with the many buttons, shortcuts, navigation of the program, OR even a project idea, etc... I think that's why when we come back to the program we could experience a "massive drain on of motivation as soon as we open the program"... To combat this feeling I would say and this my opinion and experience is to model something simple like a Funko Pop character, there's a hundred of them, give yourself the goal to model one and light it good that makes you proud, and print it or have it as wallpaper on your phone/desktop, the best is to have it as a poster physically around your room. This could be a source of inspiration for you. Next time you open Blender think of it as this time is "practice time" or "project time" on project time give yourself something you can reference, model, light and proudly display and for "practice time" don't give yourself any expectation JUST play with the program. A method that helped understand the program was by reading a blender fundamental book that I got from amazon. I use youtube whenever I get stuck on something that I needed quick tutorial, like quick searching for a preference setting, add-on, a modifier, etc. Anyways I peek your YT channel I've seen you've work on Blender "Fishbowl Mask" and you know how to navigate around Blender. Maybe the issue is not completing something you proud of, which thats happened to me. I'd say I'd keep at it, just give yourself something simple you can reference, model, light it, and print/display out, frame/wallpaper it, etc. Good luck!

@@KeelanJon Oh, don't get me wrong, I love watching tutorials (Your videos have been wonderful), I glean quite a bit of stuff from any ones I watch, I just can't watch and do it simultaneously. xD I have modeled quite a bit of stuff since my last message, and I definitely have improved in quality, motivation is still tricky but I am getting much better at it. c:
