Bro first weapon I ever took out in patrol was a scar with an elcan in it. Got back after and switched it out for a Block II FSP with an ACOG and never went back.

Love that rifle my man. I also got a block 2 build that I pumped out with all kinds of dope shit. I run the magpul XTM panels on the rail any place I don’t have an accessory. Dude not only is it a vibe with how you can camo it, it makes it so comfortable and heat mitigating. Not to mention 2 packs will get it done for like 24 bucks total. Unlike the ras panels. Good shit man
@SonoranSteel6 ай бұрын
Thanks man! Yeah I love the paint, and it does help a bit to mitigate heat. I’m not a rail panel guy personally, but I like the look.

Those cut down slots on the ris II rails are to attach KAC rail covers. They are safe to mount stuff to, I have a KAC folding front sight on mine. Nice rifle setup 👍

Nice rifle! I recently built out a 14.5" and I feel like it really is the best "do all" length.
@SonoranSteel6 ай бұрын
Thank you! 14.5 is a perfect do-all length. Enough velocity to get good terminal ballistics and distance, while being short enough to be handy.
@StiffShot6 ай бұрын
@@SonoranSteelwhat about the 13.7 pin welded? Is it good enough?
@SonoranSteel2 күн бұрын
@@StiffShotSorry this response is so very late. 13.7 is a weird length, because you still get good velocity and it’s even shorter than 14.5, but there aren’t many muzzle devices that you can P/W to get you to 16”, especially if you’re running a suppressor (you need the right muzzle device depending on your mounting system). I personally wouldn’t do a 13.7 because it feels like if I want something short, I’m just gonna go 11.5” and SBR. If I want something more rECcE that can reach out and touch, I’m going 14.5”, hence this rifle.

Any idea why the KEYMO failed? I’m looking to Reardon from here on out. Good throwback build. Vibes and things. 🤙🏻 Look at Lunar Concepts Hot Pocket for handrail.
@SonoranSteel6 ай бұрын
I honestly cannot explain the Keymo failure. It was definitely on there tight. But based on how catastrophic the baffle strike was, it must have come completely loose and out of alignment. Here’s a link to my Reddit post when it happened. www.reddit.com/r/NFA/comments/16065bi/big_sad/

For the PA PLXc scope, which reticle did you go with? Meters or yards? I'm debating on getting the griffin mil or the m8 raptor yards for my 14.5"
@whitlock30766 ай бұрын
Love the build man! What spray paint colors did you use?
@SonoranSteel6 ай бұрын
Thanks! Paints were Rustoleum khaki and black, both from their camouflage line. Base coat of khaki, then some sprays with black over a laundry bag, and then a light overall misting of black to darken it.

Oh, I never add everything up. That would be a buzzkill Jokes aside, I got the Brownells upper for about $650, and the lower was $340. Sionics NP3 BCG is ~$200, upgraded charging handle about $90, Larue trigger $89, ergo grip $20, vertical grip (custom) $90, MBUS Pros $150 used, optic $1000 used, mount $220 used, RMR $300 used, sling $65, whatever all that adds up to.

Have you ever used the PLXc 1-8? It's on par with the Vortex Razor 1-6 (the gold standard of 1-6 LPVO's) all while being shorter & lighter. I generally prefer red dots to prism optics, but I like the distance capability of 8x, hence why I installed the top mounted RMR.
