I read on one of the 6post forums that a temporary fix for the headlight is to turn your headlights on manually as opposed to keeping it on auto headlight function. Worth a try

That’s what I do , I don’t leave them on auto I turn them on manually and also helps store more power on the battery

I’ve just bought a 2012 640d m sport ….. what a car ! It’s been remapped now pushing around 380bhp…..probably my favourite daily I’ve ever owned!

Iv bought one very similar spec as yours in white too absolutely love it as it’s mapped and dpf has been deleted too

This and a Z4 are the only BMWs I would consider buying. I'll be buying a car around Christmas and my choices are a 640d or a E Class coupr/ convertible which is my choice. My friends a mechanic and he is been a BMW man since rhe 90's...he said that the merc is gonna give less problems

Glad you got your pax seat sorted. That must've been a pain when you have pax at the back. No way you're spending 2.5k on a head lamp. If I know anyone, I'll let you know. Great update Bobby

Yep fixing the pax seat was a relief! However as for the headlight, I’m screwed! 🤣 thanks for offering though 💪🏼

Very informative couple of videos you put together. I've been considering buying this car next, but a few potential known issues have been putting me off. 1. Apparently, this model has engine chain issues. It prematurely stretches, and it's in such an awkward place that it costs a fortune to replace. 2. EGR problems. It fouls up the DPF. I am wondering whether fitting an oil collector in between would help with this problem. 3. Potential electrical gremlins like you've experienced. I hope you you don't mind me asking, what the cost of your insurance was, your annual mileage and how much the car cost. I'm just trying to get a very rough idea of likely costs. I know there are a lot of other factors that might determine the cost.

It’s got to a common issue because my drivetrain fault comes on too but once I turn it off it resets it’s so annoying

Hey, mine was the same. I had an error coming up but the rear camera would still work perfectly fine. I did a reset with the Carly adapter and that managed to get rid of it. It deleted any software related issues.
