I‘m glad that I’m not the only one who will go out and buy a nicer edition if I like a book! My “lifetime achievement reading” series are Penguin Clothbounds - also gorgeous. I just wish they made books like these in other languages too. Sadly, the trend of prestige editions (or just pretty books in general) hasn’t really caught on in the German market.

dtv hast clothbound books:) but only classics like Wuthering heights "Sturmhöhe" which I have in my shelf✌️

The only problem with Penguin clothbounds are the prints can be easily erased

Do you read your books and then just put them on the shelf or like do you ever like write an overall summary on the book and what I mean by that is like kinda summarize everything that happened in the book so you don’t forget or do you just put them on the shelf and decided to re read a series once you forget it???

If it's non-fiction I usually write a summary while writing. For fiction I write down some of my thoughts in Notion, but I don't summarize the plot!
