HappyConsoleGamer That is what I expect and want from you guys. That way the personal experience and knowledge of the game will reflect in the let's play. Too many let's players do it blind or don't offer any tips or... what I'm trying to say is there is no value to be found in most let's plays.

Please do a Let's Play series! Of all the reviewer-duos on KZbin, I love watching you two do videos together the most. You guys have the very "real" element that doesn't feel manufactured like other folks; your long-lasting friendship that was founded on video games and has stood the test of time really makes your channel special. Your stories really take me back to the early 90s and the nostalgia is genuine. Keep it up, you guys are awesome!

5:53 rofl that's a cool guy right there. I used to sneak into the principal's office when I was in middle school, and look at files in her office. I didn't do anything bad, one time I saw a draft for our examination papers submitted for her review, but I didn't look at it because I didn't want to cheat the exams.

Oh man. I love your stories. Both of you are the most awesome collectors I've ever seen. You value the memories more than the tangibility of the games(price, condition,etc.). I despise some collectors who are too hardcore and forgot the joy of collecting awesome trinkets and such stuff.

I actually have kind of a fun memory with Willow. I was in the kitchen when my sister came in and I said "which finger holds the power to control the universe?" But then my hand got squashed in the fork box, so I screamed, and then my sister said "Well, not that finger"!

Nice! I had the oppurtunity to purchase about 35 LNIB boxed NES games from Babbages back in like 1998, but my broke ass teenage self couldn't afford more than four of them at their price of $14.99 for most of them. I remember seeing Mega Man 1-6 all lined up in their excellent condition boxes for less than $20 each. Those were the days.

I'm a Master System guy, who went round to my friends house and played nes/snes and borrowed friends commodore's and spectrums (live in UK, Herefordshire) . The games were good I think because they either made you think, blew sht up or were jst fun fun fun ... great days. Would totally love to 'come round yr house' and play all those games, and the ones behind you, right through non-stop, all day!!

I'm afraid that is frowned upon. I went to Johnny's house demanding that he let me in to play video games. He politely asked me who I was. I was infuriated that he didn't know my name. I began to throw rocks at his house and spit on his car. I can't believe that he called the cops on me. What a jerk! He was far from being a "Happy Console Gamer" on that occasion!

I so agree, Sunsoft's Batman nailed Gotham via NES graphics. The way the shadows are cast diagonally on those brick pillars, and just all the ways they expertly used lighting totally sells the noir atmosphere. And as a sprite, Batman, himself, looks fantastic. I've always loved the way they arranged the colors on his costume to make his shape distinguishable, as well as using just enough details to make him appear as the Batman we know, but not cluttered looking at all, not drowned in too much detail. One of the more solid looking games on the NES, for sure. I think a lot of people have found out about it now considering videos like this, and the James and Mike Mondays episode, but it definitely deserves more recognition as one of the better, or best, on the system. Also, I know this is an older video, but Sh'Neal is such a fucking legend. He's out there somewhere, rearranging patio furniture and decorating lawn gnomes with Hawaiian apparel, to this day.

The thing about Hydlide is that it was basically the pioneer for the entire action RPG genre that would evolve into games like Zelda and Ys a few years later. The problem was that it was an early 80s game that was revolutionary in its time being ported to the NES in the late 80s when the games that it had inspired had already released.

Touching more on their Batman segment and how Johnny was so blown away by the animation. People, more so kids, now days, don't understand how good they have it when it comes to video games. Back then, these NES games blew us away and when the Super Nintendo and later Genesis games came out, it was like a religious experience seeing how some of these game looked, visually. I can still put in some Super Nintendo games and it takes me right back to when I first saw them and I still think the games look amazing, to this day! With all of the huge processors, RAM, GPUs, etc... that are available now days, younger kids will just never appreciate what it was like to grow up in the golden age of video games and see all of these visual advancements happen right before us.

***** I for one think it's a good idea because Johnny and Rob will tell stories and be funny playing, not screaming like 5 year old ala Pewdie Pie, and it's not like they would be doing only "let's plays," there would be few, which would make them better than "let's play" overkill. That's my 2 cents.

PewdiePie is really wack, there are a lot of Let's players out there commentary or not that it can be over whelming. But i would like to see them do a let's play, it might work I want to see them do let's plays of a variety of games like maybe some from PS2 to Gamecube, Xbox 360 and ect.

inamoratasamazing Though never got the box for the first legend of zelda. Found a working cart for it at a local used game store back in 2006 though. Man I played the hell out of that game. Faxanadu is great! it's a minor classic in my book. I had this game as a kid so I'm very nostalgic towards it. But I also think it's a fun experience. The atmosphere in particular (with the somber, slightly alienating color palette and the music that at times is epic, and at other times eerie and menacing) makes for a very unique action RPG. Getting new weapons and armor (which you would see equiped on your sprite) is so satisfying and badass. I reccomend it, give it a chance and learn how to manage the different keys and items, and it will become a very rewarding experience.
