I completely understand Girlfriend's reaction to losing her parrot. I had a similar experience with a Minecraft cat back when the only place you could get cats was by going to a jungle and taming an ocelot. The server I was on had made the main base several thousand miles away from the nearest jungle, and my long-established area was near that base. I'd been looking for literal weeks trying to find a jungle so I could get a cat, and I'd finally found one. It took an entire real-time day getting that cat back to my base, traversing oceans and some of the deadliest (to cats) terrain in the game multiple times, but after a huge effort... I finally got him home safe and sound. I got him inside my house, put a name tag on him (I don't remember the name I picked), sat him down, and went out to do some fishing to feed him. I got about 10 blocks when I heard the damage sound. I ran back and discovered my cat had glitched through the floor and into the rock beneath. I broke my floor and dug as fast as I could, but there was no time... my Minecraft cat had died. I was so upset I quit the server and joined another one a couple of days later.

Had to pause and check comments halfway through, as soon as you hit on the idea of building the RelationShip. This is definitely a case of "parallel thinking", but this idea of building a RelationShip as the base for a pair of Minecrafters came up in the Double Life SMP - effectively the third season of a series of short-term semi-hardcore SMP worlds that are sort of an improv reality game show with mostly the same players each season. All the Life series have the base concept of a group of 14-17 players playing in a bordered-off smallish world where each player has a limited set of lives and all members record together in ~3 hour weekly sessions which they pare down to ~30-60 minute episodes. Usually each player has three "lives", but after the first series (Third Life) there's always been a few twists to shake up the formula. The twist in Double Life was that all players had a "soulmate" and each pair of soulmates shared their lifebar. When one would take damage, so would their soulmate. This led to most players pairing off with their soulmates as a team (as opposed to the loose role-playing alliances that tend to form in other seasons). One such soulmate pair - EthosLab and SmallishBeans - decided to base on a cliff... near a pillager outpost... and design their base as a ship. Which was called, of course, the RelationShip. 🙂 Even if you don't tend to watch Minecraft SMP series, I highly recommend checking out the Life series. They tend to run shorter than your average SMP series - I don't think they've ever gone past nine sessions. There have been five series to date: Third Life, Last Life, Double Life, Limited Life and most recently Secret Life. The cast of players are mostly KZbinrs more known for longer SMPs like Hermitcraft and Empires, but it's basically "friends of Grian" as a couple of them don't make much Minecraft content outside of the Life series. While there is a background element of survival and "last player standing wins", it's less about the gameplay and more about the player interactions, as the combination of a small world, everyone being on at the same time, and all of them being pretty good at improv makes almost every episode from any player's perspective fun to watch. 🤔 I didn't start this comment with the intent of plugging other channels' videos. It just kind of went that way the longer I typed. Sorry about that. But seriously, check out the Life series. 😁
