I absolutely love how they introduced the explanation of how to play the game with this video clip you found. It's telling you to search for knowledge and to think of what questions to ask. Which is how you beat this game - ask "what does this symbol mean" and then just add that information to your knowledge bank while curiously going from one puzzle to the next. And instead of just spoon-feeding you this at the start of the game like all other games would've. It hides the key to it behind your first little achievement in the game so you're likely to take note of it, teaching you it pays off to be paying attention. And the place to play it, the windmill, being a landmark is such a natural place to explore early in the game without it being forced upon you.

This game... I love it. At first, I couldn’t handle the lack of explaination but the more I dug into it, the more it rewarded me. I love that it is so different than any other game I have played in my life. The Witness is one of the games I come back to and just play it. It is a beautiful place and so many things to discover. And from the BBC video, I take away the task to ask questions. Asking questions is a powerful tool in my opinion.

You mentioned the footstep sounds, I've heard there are over 100 different walking sounds throughout the game :)

Speaking of sounds , only a small percent of people know that the usb sticks are clues and puzzles too.

My favorite thing about the "oh God, you're so big and we're so close and nobody sees thee" recording is how it's right by a gigantic environmental puzzle and many people, right there, by something so big, just don't see it. My sense of irony enjoys that.

there is more of that. In the green colored room there are physics talking about the frequency of light and the sound of each room is of that frequency. In the pannel that line gets invisible and starts visible it talks about god being visible and invisible. There is a lot of hidden meanings in this game aparently

Yeah. Its interesting how diffrent the experiencees are from all people. Including mine. I can only recommend dont use guides .

There’s also the sound recording that talks about invisibility next to the puzzles where the yellow line turns invisible.

Frustrating, but interesting is this game's MO. XD I played it with my partner and enjoyed it a lot though, maybe because I love these sorts of puzzles. =3 Anyway though, it's fun as always to watch you explore this world, though if you have any broad questions, or need a hint (like, "Should I be able to finish this puzzle yet?") feel free to ask~ ^_^ Going to do my best to stay quiet over here. X3

So agree with that! One of those games that when things click, you are either going "ohhhhh!" or "....seriously?!" lol

I totally get your frustration at this point of the game. I think I was about at the same point as you are now and it was so frustrating I resorted to using a guide to help with the rest of the game. It's the biggest regret I've had in gaming for a while because I would love if I just powered through and kept on working at it to figure it out myself.
