It happened in May. I went and bough myself a Husky 701 enduro bike. In this video I'm trying to express my emotions and relay the sensations I was feeling, but being a cold-blooded nordic person I struggle and possibly fail. Nevertheless. May is mine and I could not be happier!

That is a great bike and I can tell you it love by your excited voice...lol. Nice name too. I'm glad you got the Enduro model as it will be better in some off road situations. The 4000km trip sounds exciting and I hope you put up some Instagram pics along the way. RSM8

Thanks! :) By now the 4000km trip (that ended up being more like 4600km) is done and unfortunately I have very few pics to post. Riding with my dad it is a different kind of riding. Very little time to stop and enjoy the scenery and even less time to take photos. Basically it was 8 days of 8 hours of riding at full speed to get to the destination and even bigger hurry to get back. :D At least I should have some clips to make a video once I can dig through the half a terabyte of material :D

Congrats (again) for your new bike, Welcome home May ^^ =) I know that feeling when you get a brand new bike ^^ feels so great! ^^ Strange that there's no real "breaking period" (I guess it's how it's called in english lol ) for the first 1000 km I think for this kind of bikes, Husky's colors are nicer than Ktm, but white bikes... not for me, they get dirty too fast, and I'm too lazy to clean a bike every 2 or 3 days ^^ Enjoy, Peace!

Thanks :D I guess plastics are a bit more forgivable when dirty, or maybe it's just the image of dirt-bikes in general, that it is okay for those to be dirty. I tried to keep her clean but gave up quite quick. XD But the light bike is a dream on hot days as it won't feel like burning when it's been sitting in the sun ;)

awesome trip you want to go with, just was on 3500 km through norway ( on a yamaha mt10) but i want an 701 enduo in addition for the offroad fun :) hope you will do a video about your long tour buddy! good luck!
@MargusMoto
@MargusMoto 5 жыл бұрын
How is the mt10 on longer trips? It isn't really a tourer either I figure :D I'm still in the process of editing the video of that trip. It was really long and I've got quite a lot of material to go through, but it's on its way ;)

@@MargusMoto nice :-) . The mt10 is an awesome tourer IMHO, i do a 3000-4000km Trip every year, daily up to 7 hours riding, for me it is very comfortable! Only thing is the sporty suspesion if u ride very bad rodes you get a little bit shaked, but nothing i would refuse to drive :) i just dont want a tourer, the mt has plenty power/fun, is light, and comfort is not a GS but really really nice
@MargusMoto
@MargusMoto 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if it's comfortable then it makes perfect sense. A real tourer only makes sense if you ride long distances even more often and even then I'm not sure they are as much fun as most other bikes :)

Suddenly a p1800es. Those aren't too common even here in sweden. I am looking at buying a 701 enduro next year and getting an under seat tank, pack-rack and rally tower for the ultimate light adv bike. How do you like it now that you have taken some longer trips? The rumored 801 might be making an entrance and changing my mind though.

For me the 701 enduro is close to being perfect. What I absolutely love about this thing is the weight to power ratio. It has virtually no weight no matter the speed you're moving at. For me it is the most important thing since I mostly ride in the city. I've now had one longer asphalt trip (about 4 600km) on it in eight days. Somehow the seat on this thing goes surprisingly well with my ass. It did hurt a bit after about 5-6 days into the ride on the evenings, but nothing quite what I was expecting. A windscreen would've been nice but I simply had no time to get one. That made riding over 130 km/h for longer periods a bit difficult. I know a lot of people have converted the 701 into a light-ADV bike and are doing exceptionally well. But I'd say, that if you are looking for a bike mostly for the harder surfaces (some sand and mud, but mostly tarmac and fire-roads and such), then something a wee bit beefier from stock will work better. Personally, in that case I would go for the Yamaha Tenere 700. Sure, us Europeans are catching up on the reliability, but it's still not a match to the Japs. If you are mechanically capable and don't much worry about small repairs on the road, then sure it doesn't matter all that much. And me, I don't normally go for longer rides (I could ride through my home country in half a day). I'd love to see the 801 though. It must be something quite capable to go head-to-head with the Tenere 700 and 790 Adventure. And man I love the look of those p1800es-s. Too bad the C90 they built with the same design clues turned out so underwhelming... :D

@@MargusMoto oh, maintenance and reliability doesn't bother me. I have grown up on motocross and enduro bikes, built engines both for bikes and cars and do pretty much everything except for suspension myself (including tuning). It'll be ridden just about evertwhere and the large dirt bike feel is what makes me love the idea of it. Wind protection is the main reason i look at a rally tower. And the rally look is just stunning. I am afraid the 801 will be more like a 801 svartpilen, competing more with things like the guzzi, royal enfield or triumph rather than 790/t700. The few spy shots sure look like it but i guess we will see at eicma this fall. I am more of a saab guy, living in Trollhättan and all, but tje p1800es is really good looking, i like the es better than the regular p1800 coupe! Polestar 2 is really cool but nowhere near as good looking

I do agree, that as much as I've seen about the 801 it looks rather like a retro bike than an off-roader. Especially the seat, which doesn't allow much movement front and back.. But we'll see. And yeah, the 701 looks quite cool with the rally tower. If you haven't yet, then I'd say definitely go and try out the bike. It is really fun to ride. The one thing I need to change on my bike is the height of the handlebars. They are a bit too low for my 1.83 height while riding standing. But things like that are really just minor things.

@@MargusMoto sadly yes, husqvarna does have a lot of history but they come so strongly from offroad that i wished they aimed at the serious offroader segment rather than nostalgia. Sure, they have built bikes since 1903 but still. Especially since KTM is such a "hooligan brand" that every teen wants. The adv-line is a bit different though so that is fair, but the road going exc supermoto builds, dukes and whatnot just make me cringe due to the supperretard fanboys screaming fuck the Police while dreaming of us-style bike mob rides 😂 the april fools rendition "skojar 801" looks great even though it is essentially a 790 adventure r in white. A less agressive rally style fairing, less obnoxious looking fuel tanks and proper husqvarna styling is the dream but i guess that will have to be a dream. i plan on getting a go on one soon. I have a few weeks of vacation left in August so i'll have a test ride then if i can't squeeze it in sooner. Handle bar height is probably not an issue, i am a bit shorter at 177 or so. The height of the seat doesn't really scare me either since i have been ridning full size motocross bikes since i was 13 or so. You only need to reach the ground with one foot at a time 😅

How long you are? is 173cm enough for this bike enduro version?
@MargusMoto
@MargusMoto 5 жыл бұрын
I'm 183cm and I barely have my toes on the ground with this bike. Might not be all too comfortable if you can put your leg down only on one side. Especially in the city. But also going off road at slower speeds.. I've had a few times when offroading I lost the ground and nearly tipped over. Luckily the bike feels light so it's no problem holding her up.

I'm 175cm and I couldn't even get up on this thing! I don't like to ride bikes where I cant put my feet down on the ground / hardly put them down. Went to test ride it and had to call it a day, never rode 1 meter with it. Too tall.... =/
