Did you not jump a Raptor as well before you jumped the TRX? You only sent the TRX further because of the V8. My question is what is the history of the gen3 Raptor?
@NickL122 жыл бұрын
Here's my suggestion: keep the TRX as your daily driver that you can still make videos with and have a good following for it. Then, (if money isn't a problem in this scenario) buy trucks like the Raptor 37 that compare to your daily and make content with it. When you feel you've done enough with the side-truck, get rid of it and try something else. Bottom line, in my opinion the TRX is too good to get rid of from a functionality and viewership standpoint.

When you go flying into water at that speed your asking for trouble I don’t care what your driving. The hydraulic forces under a truck like that are COMPLETELY unpredictable. You can get backwash waves with incredible forces. I worked as a scientist for the Navy and some of the wave tank theory we did on torpedoes launched from under water vs air launched vs dropped off a boat, create huge turbulence and forces that are hard to predict. After many tests with EXACTLY the same setup we’d get 10 different results in 10 different tests. What he did here could break a Mercedes G wagon or a dodge or a Chevy. There is no way to predict how much force coming from each axle and tire and knowing which direction the waves are coming from . The waves are sometimes additive and sometimes not, there’s no way to know what force is going to go in which direction. Lastly to say just because he drove this particular truck in there like that that this truck failed is just ignorant. Because you can fly in there with 10 straight trucks and have 0 failures or you can get 6 failures. This is a test that just not a good idea nor can you make any objective declarations from this other than it’s just not a smart decision

Are you sure the suspension is stock? I only asked because the angle of the control arms looks steeper that other Raptor 37s I've seen. When lifting anything with IFS tie rod angle is critical. In some cases even a leveling kit requires tie rod braces or upgraded tie rods. In my opinion off road trucks shouldn't be built with parts that close to their limit but they often are and not just Ford. Ford does seem to be the worst offender currently though. The new Broncos have become well known for breaking steering components when lifted with tires over 35 inches.

It's a factory 37" package on the cRaptor, hard to deny that warranty.
@GrinDiesel19692 жыл бұрын
Not Factory Wheels and Tire specs and looks to have a Level Kit, Manufacturer is definitely going to deny warranty work without even seeing the Videos. They watch the channel, definitely no chance!!

You would think, but dealerships make more money when a customer pays, so they may try to blame it on the aftermarket wheel width or offset.
@gs300rich42 жыл бұрын
@@jonathan.sullivan not the stock wheels and tires and it’s definitely lifted or at least leveled. The angles are way off. This is not a common problem with these trucks. There are always raptor runs in Colorado, Utah, Cali and they beat on all the gen raptors and they come out just fine

Definitely keep the TRX content Mike because Rams are rugged and fast but honestly I would like to see how the Raptor R will hold up on the trails and on the streets, thanks my friend for the dope content your team has the best car and truck videos on KZbin .. 💯 % true 👍

I would stay with the Ram! Ford for me has also been nothing but problems
@trelee98652 жыл бұрын
From my best guess, it was when it slipped in the leaves and hit the right front tire, wheels dont like lateral pressure, so thats where i saw that, as for the other tie rod, that makes me feel like something was actually wrong because unless that broke during recovery, i dont see where the driver side couldve broken. And you can put all all the clips of the trx doing stuff, but the truth is, nothing the trx did forced quick pressure on the side of the front tires like the raptor. Still shouldn't have broken, but its not apples to apples, you never tske the same line on the same trail twice, and condidtions are never the same

I truly loved this video seeing you guys recover it was so funny and shows me that you are not as perfect as you appear to be off roading or something with fast cars always turns out good this not so much
@Sleepy_spartan7172 жыл бұрын
The trx is definitely better in every way imo. From the looks and sound to the build quality. I’ve heard of multiple raptors breaking while doing things they are advertised to be able to handle. The first Gen raptor was insane. But they’ve gotten worse as the price has gone up a ton. I love how you replayed the video that got you in a ton of trouble with the country at the end. That stream ride was hilarious.

37s r pretty big, there is a reason why manufacturer's didn't sell them on a truck and u just figured out a big reason why. People dont go that big without upgrading other suspension parts and heavier duty tie rods. Get your raptor modded with beefier parts and keep it.
@bigK1242 жыл бұрын
Just because the Raptor has a 37" package, does not mean that Raptor can run 37's and offroad. That package is a street package no matter what Ford or anyone else says. Those tie rod ends look like the same ones on the new Bronco that keep snapping on people.

Should have kept the trx. Imagine what will happen to the raptor R
@demongawl2 жыл бұрын
The TRX could’ve done the exact same. You don’t floor it while wheel hoping and crawling over rocks. Add 37’s and it adds to it. There’s different types of off-roading, Mike took a Baja truck out crawling and then proceeded to floor trying to get up rather then making sure he had the correct line. You can go find video of TRX’s breaking tie rods as well. Given the circumstances, any truck could’ve.
@slapdoctor7072 жыл бұрын
@@demongawl true but I'm saying imagine how much worse the raptor r would have been. I know I've had plenty of wheel hop never seen that

@rodneyaulner29092 жыл бұрын
Omg all these people saying your recovery sucked, people with you have no clue and you just beat that poor Ford to hard. The man and his friends are used to the TRX, it drives to the offroad experience tackles what's in front of it and drives home. They are not used to needing a half day, a bunch of recovery tools and a tow truck to get home.

I'm a Ford guy...and all I can think is that with the 37" package, they should be beefing up some suspension and steering components as well, which I'm sure they are not. Turning and handling the 37" tires with those dinky tie rods seems kind of crazy...
@limbitlessvlogs2 жыл бұрын
Man I’m a massive ford guy but it’s absolutely ridiculous how ford is so cheap that they can’t put durable tie rods on their trucks or at least put upgraded ones in the 37 package unbelievable

I think the channel would really like to see you build a strictly off rode truck, 4Runner, Sammie, old tacoma on 40s with a 2JZ motor trail rig.
@truckinleprechaunscottcask97472 жыл бұрын
Being a Ford man, the biggest problem they have is the IFS suspension. It is the weakest link in the 4x4 arena. I'm planning a solid axle swap on my truck just to eliminate the issue.
