I was told I had cancer when I was 38. I had a 10 year old boy and a 15 year old girl. I saw my surgeon on March 6th of 1986. He did a biopsy and he called me the next day and said I needed to have surgery as soon as possible. I had a 4cm cancer tumor on the top of my left breast. He told me I had two choices, either have radiation and shrink the tumor or have a full mastectomy. I did not hesitate at all. I told him I I wanted a mastectomy, I just wanted to remove the cancer from me. Just 5 days later, on March 11th, 1986. I was taken into the operating room and I saw my name on the surgical schedule. I closed my eyes and prayed to God, I asked God that if He wanted me to live thru this to please show me how I could serve Him for the rest of my life, But, if it was His will to bring me home that I hoped He would take me home that day. Well, it is now 38 years since my surgery, and in all these years I lived to care for my Mother for over 14 years. I have lived to see both of my children graduate high school, both got married, I have lived to know all 4 of my grandchildren, I've lived to see both of my children become successful. My son has been a Senior Pastor of his own church for the last 7 of his 30 years as a pastor. He officiated the 50 Year Anniversary renewal of vows between his father and I. We attend his church every Sunday and our faith has grown immensely because of his teaching the truth of God's Word. I have served God faithfully everyday since 1986. I taught children for 40 years. I will be married 53 years this year to my Dear husband who helped me recover from cancer and several other illnesses throughout my life. And today I am still alive to take care of him as he recovers from triple bypass surgery. I still hear God's voice as He guides me in serving Him today. I have cared for the homeless and today I care about the elderly where I live by checking on them often, to remind them that they are not ever alone. I share my testimony as often as possible to allow others to know God and His healing power. I am thankful to share my experience with all who have similar experiences, and to share my hope with you. Thank You All for letting me share.

My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in her right breast in late October of 2021. She soon had both of her breast removed in early November. After the doctors were sure that it be over and she wouldn’t need Chemotherapy. We were so relieved. But then of early January we revived the news that after they looked again at her chart they decided there was too many grey areas and my Mom will be needing chemo treatments soon. She gets her treatments in the following upcoming weeks. I’m so scared and I just pray that God doesn’t take my Mom. How can anyone live without a Mom and to watch mine suffer in pain these upcoming months will break me more than anything. God this hurts too much, I’m so scared cancer might win.

Unfortunately, my mother was also a patient. However, she hasn't seen a doctor yet. Her pain kept dragging her down because she wanted to save money for her children later. I wish I could be brave enough to tell her that spending those savings on health care is the highest priority right now, and if it is still not enough, I will try my best to borrow money to help further.

My diagnosis came on July 13 this year of Invasive ductal carcinoma also. Along with metastatic cancer in my left axillary lymph node. I have been dealing with my lymph nodes being tender and enlarged for about 8 years now due to estrogen dominance. It has been my choice through my Dr, self education and deep research and speaking other women who have battled this. I have opted to not do chemo or radiation or any hormone therapy. I am choosing to use my Faith, Nutrition and inner healing. Using techniques to calm myself in stressful times and heal my body by treating food as fuel not as pleasure. Regulating the foods the raise estrogen, but not omitting them completely. I don’t want to delete my estrogen, but lower it significantly. I am learning so much about food. I can never look at boxed food like products again. Thank you for your sharing this journey with us. I feel also like I am a voice for those who do not want to feel pressured into a decision they do not want to make. I do not want those “toxins” in my body. That is the word my Dr. used. TOXINS. Im trying to get toxins OUT of my body. AT the end of my visit as I told her. what I would do to treat my whole body to release this “dis-ease” she proceeded to fill me in on what would happen if I didnt take chemo and estrogen blockers. It was ugly. But I looked her firmly in the eye and told her my Dr told me that 22 years ago when I had melanoma and I opted to not take chemo then. Im still here and I will take a natural- QUALITY life over a weakened system susceptible to everything else while hanging over a commode. Whichever way YOU choose to heal your cancer is up to you. Positive mindset and dealing with emotions, feeling them and processing through them immediately so they dont “fester” is crucial. We WILL beat this.

Oh how thankful I am to come across your video. My story is so similar to yours. I’m 51, and a left breast mass was found on screening mammogram June of 2022. Due to Covid, I was about 8 months late getting my mammogram. I had my biopsy, and initially was told it was a small 10 mm invasive ductal carcinoma. Mine also was estrogen and progesterone positive, HER2 negative. My genetic testing was negative, too. I had a lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy 9/2. Got the pathology back on the lumpectomy and the tumor was double the size they initially thought. Also, there was an additional tumor they did not see on imaging, but it was DCIS. The great news was that it was not in my lymph nodes, praise the Lord! The bad news was that one of my margins were positive, so I would require a reexcision surgery. I had that surgery 9/12/22, and this time we got the amazing news that all my margins are now clean! 😊 At this point, we are waiting for my ONCOtype score, and waiting to meet with radiology and to meet my oncologist. I too and a believer in Christ, and cannot imagine going through this journey without Him. I know that nothing will happen to me that is not in His perfect will! Thank you for sharing your journey, and may God bless us all who are fighting this disease. May we never have a recurrence or any other cancer, and may we be a witness to Him while we walk through journey, with Him by our side!

Knowing how you went through your treatments and recovery is very helpful for women that are going through similar medical issues. I love your strength and faith. I will follow your strength to get through my treatments and recovery. Every woman needs to get checked, no matter your age or lifestyle because truly this disease does not discriminate. God has used you greatly to help others. You’ve helped me immensely with your information and encouragement. Thank you, and praise the Lord. I found a 2cm lump through a self breast exam. Some in the medical community say this is a waste of time. Don’t believe it. I learned a week later via ultrasound that the lump is malignant and am scheduled for staging/grading in 2 days. Had I not done the SBE, who knows what the outcome would be? Thank you again for sharing your story.

Do research on radiation. “Fast Forward” research in England found 26 Grey over 1 week was as good as 47 Grey over 3-4 weeks. Drs say radiation is like a sunburn. I have NEVER had a sunburn like this. My skin looks like a fried chicken. Drs don’t see this because it keeps getting worse after radiation stops and they quit seeing you. Radiation burns don’t start till after 27 Grey. I was going to stop after 27 Grey, but got talked out of it and didn’t have much in the way of side effects at the time. Since I’ve stopped, I have been intense pain, bad radiation burns- for what?

My tumour was triple negative - and I had chemo up front to shrink my tumour which was 7.5cm! It was the size of a golf ball - so they shrunk it first and then did surgery and then I had 5- weeks of radiation. I am so grateful I had the proper course of treatment. I feel you were ill-advised. You needed to have the same type of treatment . Mine was 15-years ago. Even tho I only had a single mastectomy. I am still here and have had no signs of recurrence even tho I never went back for any scans or checks over the years. I felt fine the whole time. I am just so sorry you didn’t have the same type of treatment back when you were initially diagnosed. You should have been advised to have chemo and radiation too. Back when you were first diagnosed. I am so very sorry for your recurrence especially when it could have been avoided.

I decided the same thing. I prayed about it and I just had an overwhelming feeling that I was meant to do the double masectomy and so I trust God and had complete faith. I'm happy to hear there is someone else like me because I've had so many people tell - you should've just had the lumpectomy. I'm usually pretty cool about and just say - I did what I thought was my path and I pray that you never have to worry about those decisions. And of course the women who compare their boob jobs to a reconstruction - that one does bother me. I was just fine with the small boobs I had and they served their purpose with my three boys. I never every thought about breast implants.
@gjk5406 жыл бұрын
I heard the same thing: "Don't worry about it. I was told by the radiologist that the lump in my breast was most likely cancer, and it turned out to be benign. I'm sure that will be the case for you, as well." My friends then giggled and told me I was a hypochondriac. I went ahead with the biopsy, and, indeed, it was cancer. You are so right--take control of your own health, and make your own decisions. All the best to you.

Going through that now. Radiology said most likely cancer. Then my Doctor called me. Said their pretty sure. My doctor was very upset for me. So then I knew it's something. I get mri ultrasound, biopsy all on the 12th of this month. I guess the Radiologists can tell pretty much!? There's 2 spots. I just recently found one next to my nipplle. So that's mainly why I went and had MRI . So I'll know more after biopsy. So should I take my radiologist and doctor serious!? Can they tell by mri if it's cancer or not??
