We did not have nearly enough time together, but I am grateful for and blessed by the 36 years and 8 months we walked through life together. Bret will always be a part of me, and I see him in our children and grandchildren.
My world is spinning, and everything has changed. My loss is greater than anything I have ever experienced before. Yet, I am blessed beyond measure because I know Bret is not lost. He was sure of his Salvation, as am I, and our separation is only temporary. This eternal HOPE and our shared faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, gives me the strength to continue on, to live, to love, and to laugh again.

I know the editing in this is not what you are used to from Bret, but we are learning, and I promise it will get better. Unfortunately, we lost most of the photos from the last 5 years when we were editing, so we will be adding a short specific slide show to the end of the next few videos. We also, have a song that was recorded just for this video by Megan Poore that we could not get into our editing program, so it will be in one of the upcoming slide shows as well.

My husband of 44 years went to be with the Lord on Sept 8th, 2022. My husband had diabetes and ended in congestive heart failure. We just celebrated our anniversary in August. He would have been 78 the end of this month. I’m 72 and learning to live in a whole new world without him. So glad my Lord is with me.

People gasp when you say you have cancer. Where are the gasps when told you have diabetes? I was not happy when told I had diabetes but over the years I realized how it pecks away at your body until you are a shell of your old self. I lost weight and insulin needs increased. It travels its own path and worsens as time passes.. I lost my man 5 years ago to it. I was angry believing he could have done better and stayed with me. Then God showed me how it really was. Her second husband has only been gone maybe three years, but I don't think she'll ever love again. I think she's tired. And being a widowed, single woman with grandchildren and family around is a life she's happy to live anyway. Children and grandchildren help so much. As Miss Becky said, we see that man in our other family members.

Oh Becky, my heart is aching as I watch this video. I was 1 of the ppl who received 1 of the first 2 boxes and I think about that quite often. When I received that box in the mail I cried. Cried because I needed it so bad, cried at how generous you all were to send it to me with no questions asked. What you did for me at that time could never truly be repaid because of how much it meant to me. Someone cared about ME, someone who didn't know me and never met me cared about how I was when it seemed the world was coming to an end as we know it. Since that day things did get better for me and I was able to do the same for someone else. That made me feel wonderful to know I was able to make someone else feel as you had made me feel. Becky, my husband died at home alone. He didn’t want me there. I went to work thinking I’d see him again. He too was diabetic also had a bad heart. It was his heart that gave out. I love this. You are spreading the message of Jesus's love. Remember in your grief that this life is just a blink in time and then you'll see Bret again forever. My mom passed in May. She loved the Lord. Before she died she saw her momma and something beautiful. She was nonverbal but her eyes got huge and she pointed and kept making an excited noise. Dear Becky, you and your family have been in my prayers. When I was 15 and my brother was 12 (back in 12,20,60) we lost our 41 year old minister father to diabetes so I well understand what you went through. My husband died on 12,10,12 to renal disease. Last year on 12,15,21 we lost our beloved son in law to covid while I was in a nursing home for 3 months due to covid. Although my mobility was quite poor before, it is almost nonexistent now and will never get better. I am not writing this as a "poor me" note but as a "Praise God" note as he has NEVER once failed any one of us. We truly know where all 3 of these men are and we were all able to be with each man as he died. Mom and Dad had 17 years together, Harry Sr. and I had 42 years together and Heather and Rick had 22 1/2 years together so I can truly say "God is good." The VERY LAST words each of these men told each of their wives were "I love you." I thank God (and Harry) constantly for those words as they are such a blessing and comfort to me. While I will be observing the 10th anniversary of Harry's death in December, 5 days later in December Heather (our daughter) will be observing the 1st anniversary of Rick's death. Well, this REALLY seems like a "downer" note, but I assure you it is NOT. There is NO way any of us could have survived without the loving presence and guidance without the love of our Lord and Saviour. As a fellow sister in Christ, my love and constant prayers are with you and your family as God guides you though this difficult and painful part of your journey. All my love and prayers. Becky, my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December of 2022. He is still with me and doing well but I know that I will be left alone sooner than I want. Hi Becky. I never realised you lost your husband. Once I knew I came to find this video. I helped my grandma when I was a kid because she had type 2 diabetes. She needed me at times to give her insulin injections. I used to cry because she was so sore from being injected constantly and it was difficult to find a spot on her leg or other part to inject her. I felt so bad and sometimes, selfishly, I was tempted to avoid going to see her so I wouldn't have to feel bad about hurting her. I always did go to see her though because I would have felt worse not to help. I am so glad to have found your channel as I have found other channels and they are mostly God loving people. I have known God since I was little and always talk to Him in so many ways. Anyway, Bret was a good man and he was fortunate to have a good wife. I pray your family will be safe and secure and that your channel goes on for as long as you are able to do it. Thank you and God bless you and all the family. XX

My husband passed away xmas day 2006. 3 days b4 our Anniversary. He was buried the day after our Anniversary. Plus his birthday was Jan.2nd. He was a diabetic as well. It's a horrible disease. My husband was 55. I am so sorry for ur loss. 16 yrs this yr it doesn't seem really. It took me yrs to move on. I still mourn for my husband Gary. I ended up eventually finding love again in 2015. Well got engaged in 2018. His name was Dave. He ended up passing away July 26th this yr unexpectedly. My heart is completely broken 💔 😢 and in 2017 I lost my dad unexpectedly as well. In 2017 we had a huge 3 stall garage fire and the contractor screwed us over. So now the lawyer is dragging. I sit here with a garage wiring etc not done and missing my Dave. I can barely move on. I struggle bad. I never thought I would have to go through this once let alone twice in my life. I am 51 and just beyond devastated and in disbelief. My heart goes out to u. I just came across this video. I have been watching u for awhile . Unfortunately my faith is basically gone. I struggled for yrs without my husband. Plus my dad and now Dave. I will never be the same. My heart is completely shattered. My thoughts go out to u and ur family. Just wanted to tell u I am sorry and what I have been through and still going through
