LOL - I love how many think it's a James Bond, spy theme. Many miss that it is actually an Ocean's Eleven theme, they are in Vegas after all - lyrics "Smooth like butter, criminal under cover...". When they go into the "gallery" you see the paintings and vases out, while dancing, you will see the paintings, disappear one by one and then replaces with their own pictures and drawings/graffitti. Jin is in the command center. just like Ocean's Eleven, same with the lasers - Ocean's twelve when they robbed the expensive egg - they ha to go through lasers. Glad yo reacted to this though!

BTS 's genre is music all music. This was fun watching Bo smiling 'cause he knows what's coming (again) and Nöel so surprised. They went through a lot trying to get this performance together with two getting over Covid and not much time together. The standing O was well deserved but the cherry on top was it was from their peers.

I was also nervous, there were so many artists in front of them and that's different than being close to the fans. But no, they did amazing and yes, you're right, because there are usually not many surprises at the Grammys in the performances, but they surprised, I really like that about them always giving their best, let's not forget their performances at the Korean awards. So besides what everyone had said about the absolute minimum rehearsal time, a few things worth mentioning: This Grammys was held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, which is also famously known through the Ocean’s Eleven movie - so their performance had some nudges to that. If you notice the pictures in the back, they disappear and are replaced with BTS’ HYYH era photos and lyrics from e.g. Fire on the wall is being written kinda like graffiti (Fire: it’s okay to be your own and do things how you want to/ e.g. break away from society’s expectations/stereotypes). The card trick also remind me of Now You See Me. Basically it feels to me like BTS has wrapped their song and performance beautifully and without the Western society/American music industry realizing how they suddenly love a non-English act without realizing what just happened. A funny thing is, that two weeks after the Grammys, BTS was performing 4 sold out shows at the So-Fi stadium, where they rented out the MGM Grand Garden Arena to put up some big screens so those who couldn’t get tickets or otherwise could see a live streams of the concert real time next to the actual concert - and they were also instantly sold out all nights. Such a flex. The guy in charge of that years Grammy also worked at James Corden’s show with all the performances and have seen what BTS is capable of, so he asked them to do what BTS does best and like NO OTHER ACT on the planet, to create a show stopper of a performance. And boy did they deliver, despite all their challenges getting there and the limited time they were allocated.

Yes! As you say: they always want to bring something new to every performance! AND they wanted to demonstrate to a global audience what they could do. As you will see in the behind the scenes, they overcame so many obstacles in the days ahead of the performance. It's a doggone shame they did not win the Grammy (aka Scammy) but I believe no one left that show thinking that anyone deserved it more. Their dancing, singing, charisma...BTS owned the stage that night. 💜

'Smooth like butter, like a criminal undercover' : Butter lyrics. So they took that and went with a heist concept in a museum while distracting with smooth moves and slick vocals. Bo was right, those are their pictures at the back by the end, signalling that they stole the originals and replaced it with their own. Lots of references to movies like Now you see me, Oceans 11 and all. Also smart to put Jin in the hacker role working behind the scenes as he couldnt perform with them.

At 3.28 Noel's surprise expressions was so priceless. I've never seen his most wide smile. It's came out maybe bcz of his crush😁 This was an incredible performance. In the beginning when they were going up to the stairs Jhope almost fell but he managed to get up quickly with a smile. His tripped wasn't even noticeable so it look's like an act & he gracefully finished his performance. That was so commendable👏 The MMA 2020 Dynamite stage dance break was also iconic. It has a Michael Jackson moves & style. Watch it, you guy's will love it. Even though they didn't win Grammy but they already won millions of people's hearts & that's matters a lot. Ah, I can't do patreon, but I'm sure you learned that 2 of them - JK and J-Hope - had just recovered from Covid and the group only had 1 day to practice as an entire group before this performance. That, and Jin hurting his hand and requiring surgery, I think it part of what made them come up with the spy theme. You started to notice the paintings - it was actually like an Art Museum heist and when all the yellow and purple appear graffiti in the background, then pictures of the BTS members replace the previous artworks. There was a Run BTS (variety show) episode where the guys had to go under smaller of those laser beams, so I guess they had a little bit of practice with that, but not on this scale. These guys are amazing! The Best! It's just a shame the Grammy's can't seem to see the same thing we all do (aka "rigged", I'm sure).

I think JK and JHOPE may have been quarantined after arriving in the US and the rehearsals were tough without everyone there and Jin’s injury. They made us proud that night! It was tough watching them not win again I’m actually getting tears in my eyes typing this post 😢😢😢😢

Yes, j-hope quarantine before leaving and didn’t arrive in the US until the day before. JK quarantined just as they arrived. Got two negative test the day before the Granny’s, so they couldn’t practice this all together until the very last moment. It was madness.
