I would have said "before i agree to get involved in an attorney-client relationship, i would need to hear the circumstances and truly honest as an attorney couldn't even assist anyone without knowing the truth, and id need to record it to be able to consider the circumstances clearly without repeatedly conversing to remember certain details for personal reasons" id act like i was completely unbiased and only interacting to consider the elements. Id get all info i could about the loan sharks too, then id provide all of it to the prosecution and the losn sharks and let them know it is trying to cooperate and sell them out any way it can for favorable outcomes and that the whole family is involved and then id just watch the news! Hahahahaha
