Can you tell me how to tell the difference between cleistocactus colademonis and cleistocastus winteri when young? mine just says monkey tail when I bought it!

Hi Sandie :-D the Colademonsis has much whiter coloured fine spine hairs and the winteri has more golden coloured hair spines even when they are very young, when they are very young seedlings they can look very similar and hard to tell them apart, but once they reach an inch or more in length the fine spine hair colours become more noticeable, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a super Sunday XXXX

Hi Philip :-D I know its a bit odd haha, as when we bought this cactus online from Uhlig kakteen it was sold as having purple flowers but it turned out to be a white bloomer, I think its very possible they labelled it wrong, thanks so much Philip for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend XXXX
