Do the owner a favor and consider trimming the underside of the cowl before setting the engine. Getting valve cover off is a pain. Also, to install injectors in truck requires loosening motor mounts and raising front of the engine with the cowl left stock.

Why cut corners swapping from each individual head bolt to stud and not pull the head, get it inspected/ machined and throw a fresh headgasket in? Especially if you’re turning it up…

Why fix something that’s not broke? Stock 5.9 with a good head gasket. I’ve done this and pushed trucks well over 1200hp after doing it and never had a problem. But also if the customer wanted us to pull the head we would

@@hblakefitz fair, I can understand your point. I’ve always thought more along the lines of covering my own ass, say the customer wanted studs and you advised to pull the head, you could fully inspect the valves, head, block, cylinder walls, pistons etc. New gasket and send it. Wouldn’t look great if the headgasket failed after all that work, especially if you’re right there, But that’s just my two cents. Sweet truck!
