Lots of awesome ideas and goals! Keep room for spectator campers/RVs for big weekends. We have stayed in the grass area at end of track for Big events several years now. Excited for this track to be as amazing as I have daydreamer it could be!

Does this facility have RV hookups by chance? I’m a full timer and I’d volunteer my time to do whatever they want me to do in exchange for a hook up or at least a spot to park and I can just boondock. I’m a retired custom home builder and was also a licensed electrician so I’ve got a lot of the skills they need to help get the track back in pristine condition again and ready for opening day next spring. It would be kinda like a workamping situation that a lot of RVrs arrange with campgrounds and swap out work for a place to stay. The other good thing is that somebody would be at the track 34 hours a day and it would help with security. I used to race back in the 80s & early 90s and would love to be around a track again even tho I’m not racing anymore, I just want to be around it again. This track has the potential to be such a nice track that will draw racers and fans from around the country. I’ll be watching closely!!

Congratulations on your deal! As a motorcycle racers who's done it for 35 years, the racing surface needs help. It is the only track I've ever been to where I've parked my 4 second car tire chassis bike because the track was so bumpy. And that was after a 9 1/2 hour drive. Unfortunately it needs to desperately be reground before someone gets seriously hurt. Best of luck, it's otherwise a pretty cool facility.

Moving to the area next May. We are building a new Barndominium in the Northeast Alabama. They have a nice Dragstrip in Huntsville, but I like to know we have options. 1/8th mile nostalgia drags is my thing. I’m retiring early in Indiana to move south to have a longer race season. The Southeast Gasser Association would love a nice 1/8th mile track. They may already race here, but I would definitely reach out to SEGA. Invite them to hold a race or several a year. People drive from all over the mid west/Great Lakes area to run the Nostalgia cars with SEGA. It draws an older crowd, but they spend a lot of money at events. Definitely reach out to them. Look how big Bowling Green Kentucky is when they hold Nostalgic drags. It’s a huge 3 day event with every hotel sold out for miles. Middle Tennessee is a perfect area because it’s in the center of the eastern half of the country. Seal the blacktop and paint new lines and walls. Certify the timing system to make it current. Burnout contest are getting huge, look what Cleetus has done with his events. Definitely do some Sunday afternoon drag and drives. Street cars have to make a 20 mile drive and race when they get back without popping the hood. That’s getting very popular. It will be successful if you include all types of vehicles, not just trucks and diesel. That’s a limited market. But Nostalgia events once a month and Sunday Street car drag and drives are great ideas using Bracket racing style classes. With an open mind, promotion and some Hustle you have the perfect location east of the Mississippi. I will definitely check it out. 🇺🇸🦅🏁💸

One thing they should do to promote safety is move the score boards back to the finish line. It’s a habit of many drivers who use the score board as a visual tool to throw their parachutes. Score boards there are well past the finish line and we watched a ton of people wait to throw the chutes really late. Especially when the pro diesel racing is racing there, the extra weight needs all the room possible to get stopped from 150 mph plus. Also should level the transition from asphalt to the gravel trap. If it’s not flat the gravel being raised up creates a jump for the 4wd trucks with slicks on the front. Best of luck, glad to see someone doing something with the track.

For the bride they make a expanding foam that gets pumped into the voids to stabilize it or you can pump concrete into it. After it's stabilized then you can form and pore a new top.

Saw the thumbnail and had to click, I live less than 2 miles from there, I drive by the turn off at Fredonia Rd every day. I haven't been in years, but back before the big revamp I used to go every Friday, paid $20 to get in, test and tune was free. I used to run everything I owned down the track just to see what it would do 😅 The place was closed up for years back in the late 80s early 90s, my dad used to tell us story's of people sneaking into the track to race during that time, I have Vague memories of my mom working the ticket booth for a bit when it opened back up.

That sweeper is a scrubber and is obsolete. The rear squeegee frame looks bent, and they are no longer made. About all you can get for that machine is squeegees. I do technical support for Tennant. You need at least a t20 cylindrical brush machine but what you really need is an m30. I'll give you a front row seat for technical help with it. Good luck hope things work out perfectly for you!

You do not have to pay me, I'm a die hard drag racing passionate person and it would be such a huge dream of mine to be able to live and work at a drag strip.
