As film photography starts to slowly come back to mainstream, grab a nice EOS 1N on eBay (while they're still cheap) and stick it away for that rainy day. When shooting 35mm is popular again in 5-10 years, prices for these old cameras will be much higher.

I just got one in new condition. Was a bit pricey but looks so great and works perfect.

Your shots are always a reminder in finding the composition. Three years down the road very curious on how your sentiments may have changed? I'm pinging back n' forth in purchasing this or the 1V, but with the 1V I feel I'll waste hundreds of dollars on features I don't need. Thoughts?

Thanks for chiming in. I loved this camera quite a bit, so much that I bought a backup. The autofocus, metering, and a few other features that make this camera a champion, are tops. BUT, I sold them and the lenses last month. This rig, paired with most of the lenses I liked, were just too heavy. I do a ton of photowalks, so it became a burden. The sale of those items led me to the CONTAX 167MT. It's not as epic as the EOS-1N, but it's light, feels good, sounds good, and the glass that pairs with it are very nice. It boiled down to slimming down in more ways than one. Should you buy the 1N? I think you should, so you can experience it and find out if you like the form factor and weight. Find a beat up one that you don't have to pay too much for. Let me know how things go. I'm interested to know your thoughts. Also, thanks for noticing the composition on the photos. Cheers!

Yessah 🤙🏼 subscribe right away ! Been waiting for canon Eos 1n shooter ! More video please, I really enjoyed your honesty on everything!

Thanks a ton! I just try to keep things simple. There are many 1n "how to" videos and I feel that a general easy and super short overview is best. Thanks for chiming in!

I can’t wait for another video of 1n, please do more vids and more about the camera, of course your own opinions etc ! I have like two of it, the grip you have and with vertical grip. The built in light meter for night time is accurate, I’ve tried Cinestill 800T in night time shooting aperture 1.8, 1/60 and 1/80 during Christmas. Crazy outcomes on it!

Jason, I'm doing a review of the one series line up, would you mind if I pulled a few seconds from your video and gave you credit?

@@OrdinaryFilmmaker Thank you so much. I appreciate it! I haven't used any 1D rigs, but I've seen some MKIIs around for under $300. If I can find another at that price, I may pick one up.

I bought a 1V HS. Shot it for a year. It had 70 rolls of film through it. It looked nearly new. Then it died. Used 1V have gone up in price and I didn't want to spend more than $400. I found a nearly new 1N. I paired it with the PB-E2 powered it with AAs and loaded it with Tri-X 400. Street photography never looked so good.
@TokyoGritandGrain3 жыл бұрын
The 1N seems to just make sense. Yeah, it's heavy and loud, but its options make it so enticing on the streets. The metering and weather sealing hit the mark for me. The PB-E2 is working out well? Have you gotten used to the weight? I'm definitely interested to hear your take on this. Thanks for chiming in!
@dps61983 жыл бұрын
@@TokyoGritandGrain The weight of equipment is never a concern. I trained for 8 months before visiting Zion National Park. The level of difficulty of some of the trails would shame most guys. I welcome the challenge of trekking our parks a with tripod, camera, water and food on uneven trails with sheer drop-off of hundreds of feet or more. Not for stupid selfies that could mean death. But meaningful photos of landscape that inspires.

How's the focus of the 1n compared tot the 1v ? Is it that big of a difference or is it just good autofocus? I'm used to the first 5d and that focus got some complaints but it's more than fine. Wondering if the 1n is a bit the same or really lacking.
@dps61982 жыл бұрын
@@tmuntenmaker5203 The focus is better on the 1V. It was designed to be a better camera than the 1N and it shows. However for still photography a fast focus isn't a concern. When shooting action sports then you need focus as fast as the camera allows.
