Very clear and concise. I enjoy your easygoing nature and explanations. BTW, where do you STORE your Trangia and fuel bottle? And what do you recommend for a bottle? Thank you. You have a new subscriber as well.

+Bradley Mann Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your very nice comment! I don't use my Trangia a lot, but when I take it out, I keep it in one of my backpack pockets. As far as the fuel, I just keep the trangia full and don't bring any extra. I have heard that Trangia carries a fuel bottle that works well. Thank you for the sub, my friend! I really appreciate that and look forward to talking with you again soon! -Dave

I ordered the Firebox Nano the other day. Do you think the canteen can boil water with it? I stuck in on my stove when I first got it last year for 10 mins and I still didn't get a boil... I'm kinda worried now bc I forgot. I hope it works.
@HighCarbonSteelLove7 жыл бұрын
I have only boiled water in this canteen by hanging it over a fire but I wouldn't see why not. I have the Emberlit stove and believe that it would boil water in this canteen. It just might take a while, depending on how much water you are trying to boil. I am not familiar with how much wood the firebox nano holds. Maybe try boiling less water in the canteen, as opposed to having it full. Thank you for watching and keep me posted! -Dave
@joeykerr55177 жыл бұрын
HighCarbonSteel Love I just got the shipping confirmation so hopefully I'll find out soon. It was pretty full, maybe that is why. If I get enough flame up the sides of it, maybe it will boil it all. I'll let you know. Thanks.
@joeykerr55177 жыл бұрын
Took a while but mainly bc I was slackin on feeding it constantly but it eventually worked.

Looks like you had something break off your paracord bracelet; perhaps a button compass? Also noticed that the edges of your canteen cup (as well as your canteen itself) were well dented. Holy cow, you're hard on your equipment, aren't you? Well, at least I know you're putting in "dirt time" with your stuff instead of coddling it. That's good!
@HighCarbonSteelLove6 жыл бұрын
Hahaha...sometimes I feel like I am too tough on gear but better to know that it holds up, huh? And who knows whats fallen off the brackets, as I don't find much use in the standard button compasses or tiny ferro rods and a lot of them attach. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving your awesome comment, my friend! -Dave

I have a kit much like that, but going full military gives you everything at a far cheaper price, and the pieces all fit. I've never hated anything as much in my life as I did that Stanley canteen. I gave mine away as soon as possible. A canteen made for the cover works infinitely better, doesn't have those useless side rings, isn't too tall to fit that cover properly, and isn't so weirdly shaped than standard cups and stoves won't fit. If you're going to use the Pathfinder cup and stove, then why not use the Pathfinder canteen and cover? Even a cheap military canteen works far better than the Stanley, and costs half the price. As for grounds in coffee, just wrap the coffee in a piece of white cotton, and tie it with a piece of twine.
@HighCarbonSteelLove8 жыл бұрын
+James Ritchie Thank you for watching! Aside from an "o" ring falling out, I have never had a problem with the stanley canteen. It fits well int the cover, the side rings allow me to add my braided paracord ridgeline to it for a carry strap and even though the pathfinder cup isn't a perfect fit, it works well for me. I purchased the stanley canteen first, so I wasn't going to spend extra money on a full pathfinder kit. I have put this stanley canteen through a lot and it's still solid to this day. I have never had a problem with grounds the way I make bushcraft coffee. Very simple and no extra items needed. -Dave
