Thanks Joedy , as an bbq and grill enthusiast your collection is the best I have seen . Also the quality of the design and materials on these grills must be unique . Sorry you can’t find a grill but in regards to availability you are in good company. The Lodge foundry has shut down and may not resume production of the grill until March or April of 2021, even used grills here in the states are becoming scarce. Good luck in your search - don’t give up the hunt.

As a small child in the late 1960's, I remember burning my hands on a Cue Grill. (Don't touch that... it's HOT!!!..... but I just had to test it.....made a believer out of me!!!) I sure wish I had one! I THINK it is the last thing I would like in my cast iron collection..... I know it would cook great, but the nostalgia of my childhood is also a big plus.

I had a dealership with Atlanta Stove Works and sold their woodstoves in my store back in the 70,s. They were of good quality and reasonably priced, I also sold some of their cast iron cookware but I don't recall those grills! I am surprised the sales rep. didn't show them to me, I would have loved having some in my store, I still use one of their 3 qt. pots when camping several time a year. Thank You for sharing your beautiful collection!

@@samTollefson no, I’m up in TN! I just realized last night after this channel the fryer is suppose to have a lid!!! Mine doesn’t but will very soon! I located one, instead of hunting and searching maybe for many months for a lid alone I found a complete set! Bought it. After I get everything cleaned up and see which fryer pan I want to keep I’ll probably sell the other one before my hubby scalps me😂😂😂

Great video, I learned a lot. I love cast iron grills and have one of the wildlife Sportsman's Grill that I bought new in the 90's. I used to use it a lot and loved to eat steaks and chicken breast "Caveman Style" off it. I now primarily use a Weber gas grill because it is so much faster and more convenient and it does cook a wonderful steak. I still occasionally use my Sportsman when I have the time, love it. I would like to find one of those grills with the lid, I didn't know those kind of grills even existed, thanks!

@Joedy860
@Joedy860 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary Glad to meet another cast iron enthusiast. My brother asked me why I do this accompanied by the "eye roll" and I said - because it makes me happy - I have always believed that everyone should collect something, whether that be sea glass, hair pins, Ferraris or vintage cast iron hibachi grills, I think people need to have a reason to get up in the morning other than to go to work. Collecting old cast iron grills and cookware brings me back to a simpler time when things were made to last, a lot of these pieces were made by hand by real people who took pride in their work. I have some grills that are from the 1940's and some pieces of cookware that are from the 1880's - lots of history there. Yes they make me happy and that's good enough for me.

Very cool collection and a very informative video....thank you. I'd love to attend your next garage sale ;^) I do question your use of therm "serial number", as that would typically mean the number is unique to each and every single unit produced. Im not sure they would serialize such an item ? I'm thinking the numbers you refer to are either model, part, or pattern numbers which don't change from one produced piece to the next of the same kind? Thoughts?

I just restored the exact same model that you are calling the deluxe model. What would you think it's worth.

Kayla West I think a fair market price for that grill would start at around $250 go up from there.

Where can you find one of these?

Kenneth May Hi Kenneth They are no longer made. I found a couple on EBay but more often you find them on Craigslist, FB Marketplace, or in the FB cast iron groups. To be honest they are not easy to find and when you do they are never close by or inexpensive, but they are out there - good luck.

Beautiful Collection. I want to find a cast iron grill with legs like the Cue Grill. They do not make them this nice anymore.

Bart Karlson Thank you. I think they stopped making the Cue-Grill because they weight about 70 lbs. and are really not that easy to move around. Nearly got a hernia moving all those grills around. Lol.

Hi Joedy, I would like to find one. I love old things that are well made and this looks like something that could be used for another 100 years. Nothing on eBay right now. Do you know who might deal in things like this?

Bart Karlson I think your best bet to find one is to go onto Facebook, join cast iron grill and hibachi world and as many other cast iron sites as you can stomach, let it be known that you are interested in buying one and you never know you may hit paydirt.
