Sorry you can’t find a grill but in regards to availability you are in good company. The Lodge foundry has shut down and may not resume production of the grill until March or April of 2021, even used grills here in the states are becoming scarce. Good luck in your search - don’t give up the hunt.

As a small child in the late 1960's, I remember burning my hands on a Cue Grill. (Don't touch that... it's HOT!!!..... but I just had to test it.....made a believer out of me!!!) I sure wish I had one! I THINK it is the last thing I would like in my cast iron collection..... I know it would cook great, but the nostalgia of my childhood is also a big plus.

Great video, I learned a lot. I love cast iron grills and have one of the wildlife Sportsman's Grill that I bought new in the 90's. I used to use it a lot and loved to eat steaks and chicken breast "Caveman Style" off it. I now primarily use a Weber gas grill because it is so much faster and more convenient and it does cook a wonderful steak. I still occasionally use my Sportsman when I have the time, love it. Great collection and show, thank you for sharing! I happened to get a few cast iron pans and pots from an estate sale years ago, which set as the starting of my cast iron cookware collection. Have about 15 pieces now. Wife always asks what do you do with these other than using them all before you are too old to pick one up. Same question I ask myself every once a while, no definite answer each time. What do you think Joedy?
@Joedy8605 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary Glad to meet another cast iron enthusiast. My brother asked me why I do this accompanied by the "eye roll" and I said - because it makes me happy - I have always believed that everyone should collect something, whether that be sea glass, hair pins, Ferraris or vintage cast iron hibachi grills, I think people need to have a reason to get up in the morning other than to go to work. Collecting old cast iron grills and cookware brings me back to a simpler time when things were made to last, a lot of these pieces were made by hand by real people who took pride in their work. I have some grills that are from the 1940's and some pieces of cookware that are from the 1880's - lots of history there. Yes they make me happy and that's good enough for me.

Very cool collection and a very informative video....thank you. I'm thinking the numbers you refer to are either model, part, or pattern numbers which don't change from one produced piece to the next of the same kind? Thoughts?
