My mom did the cooking In my family and every one loved the way she would cook it . My thing is I’m just starting to learn how to do this kind of cooking. I have just started seeing your channel and I’m learn. Thank you.

I will definitely be trying that potato trick. Some of the ladies at work were talking about their propane griddles that they have. Theirs stand tall and large like my gas grill. I don't want one like theirs , because i can put my cast iron griddle on my grill and get the same result, and most especially. I can take my griddle camping. So, I'm watching videos on how to cook on a griddle. Thanks for the tip.

Great idea about using the potato for non-stick never saw it before. Two questions for you, 1. Does it hurt cast iron to use steel utensils on them I have heard different opinion’s on this. 2. Can you store your cast iron on a porch in the different temps in the northern states as long as it is seasoned well? I live in a cabin with not tons of storage space. But the porch is inclosed just not heated. And the Back straps looked so good just the way I cook them. So many people overcook their wild game and make it so tough you can’t eat it.
@paulco41455 жыл бұрын
You are so right about the heat. Sand, brush, whatever, you heat that griddle up to 300 - 400 deg or more, you don't have to worry about sanitation, that's for sure!

I wanted to find out how this griddle can be used on a stove vertical or horizontal. I found your you tube video and saw your awesome stove/grill. Wish I had one like that. Where can I get a grill like that? For now I will be using it on the stove to fry eggs and potatoes. Thank you Backwoods Gourmet channel

Down in Baja Mexico during a long weekend surf trip we were camping out on this dry dusty point with nobody around. To clean the pans I used seawater and a little sand from the beach then did a light rinse with a little of the meltwater from the ice keeping our beer cold then onto the fire grate to dry. Worked out fine! It was motivation to be good fishermen or we didn't eat.

Oh man. That outtake at the end had my cracking up. That’s exactly my luck. First time I ever saw anyone use a potato to help with sticking. Such a cool tip. Does it have to be a white potato or will any work? A tip for you in case you didn’t know. My grandmother (born in ‘33) told me to put butter on my pancakes after flipping. They get sizzling hot and stay that way for longer.

That was an outstanding video BWG. You convinced me to get the sportsman grill. I already have a Lodge Griddle. Will I need to retire my Smokey Joe? I wish there was a case for the sportsman grill. I generally keep the Smokey Joe in a case in the back of my truck :) I wish I still lived in Florida, I would love to visit you. I am starting a KZbin Channel called the Eclectic Engineer, a collaboration would be sweet. I plan on doing videos on engineering, cooking, flying, drones and all the other things that this eclectic engineer loves to do! I am now a Texan. I must say that I like it here a lot, there is plenty of work. Florida was a dry hole for my work. They like to pay in sunshine :) Keep up the good work.
