The process of this experiement needs a little work. Next time, use huge empty boxes in each room, put one component in each one and then wait. Neko won't be able to resist climbing into to one of them each time. Which will provide a much more definitive selection process.

I’ve had that exact coolmax PSU. Worked well in a system with a FX-4100 and a HD7700. It was the cheapest PSU at Microcenter, and I was able to build the whole PC for $330ish. Except I actually had to go back because the PSU cable was too short to reach the CPU power plug on my board. It was in the tiniest, cheapest ATX case as well, so you stood no chance without extensions in a massive case.
