Sometimes my cat thinks it's a dog and sometimes he thinks he's a human but today he thinks he's a poop expert and he thinks I'm sick.

My little poop expert runs in front of me when she sees me heading to the bathroom, and refuses to leave. Then she jumps up on the toilet seat afterwards to watch the water swirl around....😆

My cat does the same until I let her in. From what I read cats are creatures of habit. If you've ever petted him while on the toilet, or done anything that has become a habit this will never end and he feels safe.

I feel for you. Between dogs, cats and kids, I haven't been able to close a bathroom door in years. It's not about poop so much as it is "superbision". Apparently, we have to be "superbized" at all times. If I take a shower, they all line up outside the tub and wait.

Taking a poop for cats in the wild is a dangerous and vulnerable moment from other predators, they think its the same for humans and become over protective and comfort them. Predatory instincts.

Nandu Simba You are right. My Hagrid is this way, especially since we moved to a new house where the tub is larger. He would panic for weeks as if we were going to drown in there! (I did fall getting out of a tub once at a previous house and I think it made him wary of bathrooms). And he feels it’s his job to check out Every single cabinet in case there’s a critter! He also likes to sit outside at the door once every night and monitor the goings on. For real, we have a guard cat!

There's not a cat anywhere that can stand a closed door! I think it's because we constantly baffle ourcats with our strange habits and technology (like our white litter boxes that make poop disappear!) and they are constantly worried about us and need to keep an eye on us. “Those humans, what mischief are they going to get themselves into next!”

OMG...Sparta is just so adorable! 😍❤ When one of my cat boys was still alive, and I was still living at home, I had my own little bathroom next to my basement room, with a curtain, not a door, sadly. Anyways, my cat would come in and watch me when I was in the shower! That was so weird! Lol! The shower was glass btw, so he could see me. So, he was just concerned about my safety in the shower? Lol! 😂😊

Thats my babies to a T. I call them my Doody Angels or Toilet Angels. They always scratch and come check on me while I'm doing my business. They are my guardian angels that make sure everything turns out ok in the...End lol

I´vejust given up closing the bathroom door all toghether.. I have two cats and they both can´t stand not being in there with me - buisness or not. (one of them also have to taste test the water when i shower.) My younger cat has also learned to open doors, so it more or less feels like a lost cause to try and have some privacy anyway XD

I found your mean kitty videos last night & started watching some. Then I watched the Loki, r.i.p. video & cried like a baby. I’m still crying today, but having learned a little about Loki & his medical issues, I realized what a wonderful life he had with his family. I had a cat with many medical issues, including a bone disease that left him unable to walk & incontinent, the last few years of his life. I was told by many vets to euthanize him, starting when he was 6 months old. He lived for 12 years & was so sweet & loving. Then came time to say goodbye & I love you one last time. I just wanted to thank you for giving Loki (and Sparta) a beautiful life. Loki is in heaven with my sweet Bubbie, running & playing together.

I let my cats see my business and I tell them I went poopy or peed in the potty and then I flush it while saying bye bye poopy or bye bye peepee. Then they just look up at me and walk out. I know I'm the crazy cat lady, but I treat them like I would my child if I had one. And my oldest cat when we first got her would go to the bathroom with me. The litter box was in the bathroom then. And even if it was only a drop she could squeeze out she would do it. And if I was going number 2 then she went number 2 also. I know it probably sounds ridiculous but it really happened. That was a long time ago and I have since moved the litter box out of the bathroom. And I only have 2 cats and yes I'm married LoL. So in case anyone thinks I'm a crazy cat lady that never got married and have a bunch of cats to fill a void LoL. Just guilty of loving my cats too much and treating them too human 😊

Our doors are strange, so if you press them right you can open them. Cocker has worked this out, while the labrador has also worked it out, but chooses not to unless he believes he MUST get through the door. Otherwise he'll sit there and cry until entry is granted.

You might be surprised to know this but stray and feral cats do not meow to each other. They are usually pretty silent unless communicating with their young or other just as specific circumstances. Those vocalizations we hear from them are specifically a communication for interacting with humans. They have learned to communicate using special vocalizations just for us because humans are weird and we don't do cat things. A lot of us don't understand cat at all, so they have to do the communicating any way they can. Also some of them love just talking back to us cause its fun.

This is true with the cat's with my daughter and the dog with me, the dog will be very unhappy if she is left out and when she is there with me she faces away from me like she is keeping watch and she crys all the time she's doing it like she is really scared or nervous. I of course have to do the same for her or she won't go..🐕💩 of course I don't cry about it though 😂
