My Challenges to Hilton Grand Vacations... Timeshare Traveler Episode 231
With the Industry consolidation, Hilton Grand Vacations (along with Marriott and Club Wyndham.) is effectively the Timeshare Industry. I believe the opportunity for HGV is to correct much of the frustration in the industry. I provided multiple messages and opportunities.
In this video, I discuss the opportunity of Ending Timeshare Cancel Companies because keeping timeshares is much more valuable. The second point is to do what is necessary to getting unsatisfied customers back. My third point is to leverage the renovation of rooms benefit. And lastly, I felt HGV should create an end user training program.

We can’t say enough “Thank you for educating new HGVC owners like us“ We had a buyers remorse at first yet more we learn about it, more we love it thanks to your channel. It seems people who don’t know how to use timeshare would end up leaving and use a wrong timeshare exit company spending a lot of money try to get rid of it. We are very happy HGVC owners and No way we are canceling !! We decided to go Las Vegas last minutes using open season booking. Without HGVC ownership, it would cost $1000 for 2 nights. We only spent $330 including parking fee. Great saving! We will be taking advantage of open season booking more often.

That is a great story about your trip to las Vegas. I am going to do a few last minute trips in 2025. I love to hear about great success stories like yours. That is the goal to leverage all possibilities!!!

I take responsibility for not doing enough research, combined with ongoing opportunity cost. Still, here's my challenges: 1. I don't have an annual use case for HGVC. We prefer staying off strip in Las Vegas, so the initial glamor of Elara has faded with the mall's nastier parking garage, escalators broken, trash, and smoking area in-between. HGVCMax would open things up, but I am unwilling to pay for it. 2. You have to be very careful where you buy, and a larger platinum contract is needed to maximize the value. You need at least a 2-week commitment. 3. HGVC is inconsistent. It can be near the luxury of Marriott, and it can be surprisingly out of date. In Vegas, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, Waikiki, etc, insightful owners know which to avoid. In Park City we had a 1-bedroom that shared a common door with the room next door, which I'm guessing combined, and the front key card didn't work. Whenever the door stopper to this front door came loose, we had to have the front desk help us into our room.

I agree with you about the inconsistency of hgvc. I am hoping over time that this will improve with the upgrades. We all have made mistakes and improved as a result.

@@timesharetraveler Perhaps it is a double-edged sword. You can get incredible value owning a good contract at the Las Vegas Boulevard, but it is not their best property to stay at. If they but serious money into updates, those MF would likely go up. Maybe the program's weakness is also its strengths, you just have to play it right. BTW, where you do primarily own with HGVC?

Just brainstorming for the future. Do you know how many points are needed in WM to trade for Marriott in II generally? Also, are those trades for a full week, or can you do a partial midweek booking?

I believe you book a one bedroom for a one bedroom. So, in Worldmark that is either 8000 or 10000 points plus exchange fee. This is from memory.

9000 credits WorldMark trades through a fixed grid with II, based upon the size of the unit into which you exchange: Studio = 8000 credits + HK token or fee 1 br = 9000 credits + HK token or fee 2 br = 10000 credits + HK token or fee 3 br and up = 12000 credits + HK token or fee

@@timesharetraveler 10K points + plus exchange fee is not a bad price for a week at Marriott. That plus Monday Madness would be an excellent opportunity when we're ready.
