Many thanks Rebecca for this enjoyable, interesting and informative interview with the Earl of Devon. There is something quite pleasing about the fact that, despite the Tudor line disappearing over 400 years ago - the Courtney family remain.

My Great (x14) Grandfather was Sir William DeCourtenay II, Earl of Devon at Powderham, 1477-1535. Their travels through the years with descendants consisting of Pollard, Westerne, Northcott, Blackwell, Gratrix, Young, Forsyth and to my generation Johnson. For the last 170 years we've resided in Southwestern Ontario and were pioneers in the Oil Industry being Oil Producers and Farmers. It was great finding this video and witnessing the bloodline continues on.

We all have ancestors but very few of us actually turn up time and again high in a country’s founding. Great interview. I am in no doubt that my ancestors beat rushes, fed swine, and had only a tallow candle.
