Yes would be cool to find something big, but at a 1200 pound rated magnet is going to be impossible for me to get off. I usually leave a boot or something on the magnet so it does not get fully stuck. I hope no body is in that car and thanks for watching!

Considering all the weight that's (usually) on the back of these builds, If I we're to build one iI think i would balance the boat directly between the 4 barrels during the build process and possible add an extra foot or 2 length to the front of the boat maybe even a curved section like a half stop sign shape for ascetical reasons. though... that looks pretty dam good with that astro terf I must say. =D

@bigemugamer
@bigemugamer Жыл бұрын
@@chud327 Would a center barrel be your best option, you'd be dealing with more drag, and even FAR more drag if you didn't create a slated attachment for that center barrel. Thanks for posting!! I just wish I had the drive to post my sailboat build, you did a great job building this, definitely gave me ideas should I ever embark on such a project.
@bigemugamer

Perhaps 2 additional barrels at the end of each pontoon or, OR... recessing the motors inward, in any case having the barrels extend beyond the motors may be a idea for the Ver. 2.0. Perhaps build an open-able casing over the engines disguised as a cushioned bench would hide the engines. Dam! I'm full of semi-decent ideas today! =D

Once we went fishing, and my friend got the last tub of chicken gizzards and was laughing his butt off about it. So I improvised and bought smoky bacon instead. At the lake, I was catching fish left and right and he didn't even get a nibble. I guess fish are like people and get tired of eating the same thing all of the time. I also tied a bacon slice to some line and threw it out there and drug back, slowly, an entire bucket of giant crayfish. My friend bitched all the way home, that I cheated and used unofficial bait :-):-)

My idea I had for a live Well if you put a barrel underneath at an angle with the bung hole to the rear and on the bottom put the other end of the barrel up high cut access hole in barrel and floor of boat when you're sitting there in the water live well will feel when you're moving at high speed it will empty put some type of a gate valve on it to hold water in or out if you need more buoyancy keep valve closed It is an idea
@chud327
@chud327 4 жыл бұрын
I love the idea, but I don't know if I want to cut holes in the putting green. I might could do it in the back, mine needs more bouyancy in the back anyways. I will try decide before June when the spring trip is planned for. I plan to do a bunch of fishing on that trip. thanks for watching.

When metal detecting we have kind of a unwritten code of conduct, you don't leave trash behind. We try to leave everything better than we found it, including any holes we make. You cut a sod plug over the target and remove it. Place a piece of plastic or a grocery bag on the ground to put any dirt on from a hole. When done the hole is reassembled with pride and effort it will make it virtually undetectable. Any trash we find, we keep it and dispose of it properly. I would think this is especially important in a water habitat. I imagine that by removing any disturbed metal, you reduce the chance of heavy metal poisoning to the aquatic life.

Some of the metal we picked up that day was removed. However, I don't know that steel is poisonous and It is really difficult to haul rusty rebar that is 20 feet long. I do appreciate how you take care with you metal detecting and every other magnet video of mine ends up at a trash can. Thanks for watching.

I should probably ask on a different video, but how wide is the boat? Did you cut the 8' board or leave it 8'? I'm still gathering materials before I build mine, so am curious. Also, are the motors you use short shaft or long shaft?
@chud327
@chud327 4 жыл бұрын
Mine is almost 14' long and is 8 ' wide. I didn't have to cut the plywood off, used the full 8'. I suggest long shaft motors. Good luck with your build and thanks for watching.
