Being a Floridian, one thing concerns me on this car. Those intake filters are located right where the moisture and rain is going to soak them. As you know we get a ton of rain during the summer. Might want to think on relocating or blocking those from all direct moisture.
@lowk3ychris4846 жыл бұрын
Taylor Yates you don’t really drive super cars in the rain, period. And that’s really the point of the filter, to block debris. That location is the best for it to have the most airflow too.
@solexsymphony2126 жыл бұрын
A set of outerwear socks for the filters would be useful
@GFTP1006 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing you don't live in Florida. Rain showers pop up out of nowhere with very little warning. I agree that the filters should be inside shrouds to prevent them from being saturated with water.
@lowk3ychris4846 жыл бұрын
StormyMaxPerry I’m born in Florida, I lived in Coral Springs Florida the last 8 years and I just transferred out of Florida Atlantic University to attend University of Central Florida 😂, even my avatar says Pompano Beach if you look closely. I’ve also lived in Jamaica for a few years and I can tell you the showers there are far worse up in the mountains, it’s like a mini hurricane.
@SwingKingsGolf6 жыл бұрын
You dont need heavy rain to soak a filter located behind a tire. On top of that i can guarantee Tavarish will be driving this rain or shine after putting this much effort into it. The point is a soaked filter is not how they were designed to be treated. Yes they are designed to filter out debri but direct saturation from moisture was never the intention, especially on a lamborghini. Relocation is a must unless he has something to protect them fully.

Glad to see that its all working out. I really appreciate your attitude towards the car. It's refreshing to see someone with the same attitude I have towards my car. Dyno modulates load. The load is what effectively changes dynamics of creating boost and whatnot. More load on the engine, means more fuel to maintain speed, which means more/hotter exhaust to spin the turbos, which means more boost. It's technical, but pretty simple. Manual swap in the SL is going to be sick.
@jamesweber49386 жыл бұрын
Instead of cutting up the new rear bumper to miss the pipes from the turbos how about having welding Jedi Tony cut /grind/ install and weld two flats on the pipes. Would that hurt the performance too much ?

@416street6 жыл бұрын
On some cars with low sitting turbos like this, ive seen people use a scavenger tank+ pump on the bottoms of the turbos for the returns. Hoonigan did a review on a build and the guy had the drain from the turbo running into a welded alum tank. And then scavenger pumps and return lines off of that........ maybe just something to consider. Seems like its the best option for preventing back up because you have some capacity in the return side of the system.

Do it for Dale! I look forward to seeing the smile on your face when you do your first highway pull at 1000 HP. Also, if you get everything back going and still get breakup at higher RPM's, it's very likely that your coil packs aren't able to keep up with the increased boost pressure. High cylinder pressure actually increases the resistance of the gap between the spark plug electrode and ground strap to a significant degree. Coupled with a high compression engine to begin with and yeah.

Have you thought about crossing the exhaust, over/under, then curve out the back? This may give you better clearance for the rear bumper to fit without having to cut it up. I know the pipes look cool the way they are, but that left side is a little out of alignment with the turbo and may be causing it to leak there where the oil spots are.

Hi tavarish, my mustache is actually moss I stole from Mother Earth and I glued it to my face c:
@richiehester6 жыл бұрын
Not sure if someone else has said this but if you put that scavenge pump on a timer after engine shut off, you will potentially pull all the oil out of the turbo and the pressurized line feeding the turbo. Then, upon startup, your turbos will have no oil pressure to the turbos. The pressure would build right away but that may shorten the life of the turbo shaft bearings. Especially for hot restarts. I would think just having the pump would be enough. I would just wire the relay for the pump to the relay trigger wire for the ignition system. The fuel pump may seems like a good choice but the fuel pump turns on with key on before starting and may pull the oil out of the turbo then also. Just my .02, good luck.

Your car not cheap no more. Is it still worth it?
@4IN140946 жыл бұрын
Ray Brandon With the exception of the Lambo computer, yes it is still worth it, and it is still the cheapest running, driving, boosting, almost-but-not-quite 600ish BHP custom build twin turbo 2008 lamborghini gallardo spyder that only cost 70K bucks, he can throw in another 30k into it to fix all the problem and it will still be the cheapest for its conditions. Basically, anything sell for lower or similarly priced ones is basically either wreckage or completely not drivable.

Just a thought on the exhaust for the Lambo, Have you considered putting a high flow muffler between the manifolds and turbos? It would be a little unconventional but just might quiet the car down. You would need to use a muffler that was not packed though.
