A wavetrac has been high on my list of desired mods for my mk7. Glad to see it made such a difference for your gti. Seems like it helped induce some oversteer I to the car as well. Am I correct on that? If you could only do this bilstein coilovers or the LSD.....which would you choose? Great videos! Keep it up.

i don't understand why OEMs still using open-diffs or clutch-LSDs with all complicated traction system instead of the Wavetrac LSD or Quaife LSD that can do auto lock & auto torque balance precisely for both streets & off roading?! high performance & precision that traction system cant produce. not to mention low maintenance cost as an LSD if using high quality oil plus anti friction additive like EZI extra power

I dont track my stage 3 GTI so my question is: Does the wavetrac make a huge difference when launching from a standstill and putting the power down?

An actual LSD will always be better than a software diff.

Yes it will! If you launch a FWD car from a stand still you are REALLY traction limited, once one wheel begins to loose traction, it sends more power to that wheel... and the yo-yo of traction control and brakes cutting in to slow the wheel down happens. With a Wavetrac LSD fitted, both wheels will be driven... so you are maximising the grip available across the front axle. Hope that helps!

We did suggest a clutch at the same time but Hamza didn't want to at the time

U said u got a lsd for the m140 too, is it easy to live with a car with a lsd? Always hear stories about how u shouldn’t do it for a car you daily but I don’t see how it can be that bad?

An LSD is SUPER easy to live with, well, the Wavetrac is. Some other diffs, like plate diffs are more for pure motorsport and have high levels of noise, vibration and harshness with no real benefit for the road.

Mech LSD should be optional when we order a car, not the XDS crap, fucking up the brakes or axles' components ... I'm considering this mod for my Polo AW GTI as well :d Fixing all the acceleration problem we can have with a little strong FWD :D

Someone did a back to back review of electronic (pp diff) vs Wavetrac on a mk7 gti and said the wavetrac edged it but it wasn't worth the price increase. So if you have pp diff stick with that.
