Just imagine Gee singing while Ray plays piano and backing vocals, then Mikey comes and add a little bass to the harmony, then you see Frank in a suit, dancing with Helena and then her dying. Gerard starts to cry while singing and making it more emotional.

Gerard got that perfect vocals for the emo genre. That gritty, hopelessly-ish, pseudo-screaming voice but still remaining in tune. You just can feel his despair on every song, especially if you see his face while singing. OMG, there's no one I can think of that comes close to that. Two other notable vocalists just behind Gerard are Anthony Green and Craig Owens. They got that grit going, but their voices are too thin.

this year i found out mcr i heard this song first time at march, i liked that but not a lot, after my grandpa's funeral i liked that a little more, but i heard The Light Behind your eyes mostly. At June my grandmother died and i heard Helena one more time. Every time I hear both of them reminds me everything. And now, I found out this version...when i listen to it I fall into deep depression. I need some good comments :\

DECEMBER 2021... I am listening to this now. I was in gradeschool when this came out. Now I am a mother, time flies so fast. The good old days went by, it feels like im still living in the past. Guess theres nothing wrong with visiting memory lane. Sometimes I just feel like I'm stuck. I miss my childhood so bad.... maybe its never too late to live again. Maybe being 27 isnt bad... maybe I dont need to worry about turning 30 because I still havent figured out my life.. ugh! Sorry, I just feel down and depressed now. Needed to get this out of my chest....... thanks MCR for making my traumatic past a bitter sweet tragedy that I always cherish even up until now. Words cannot describe what i am feeling.. goodness i need to stop typing cause i am crying! Dang it! Grow up Scarlett! Time to move on..... 🖤🖤🖤

Kelsey Stone I discovered this song at a really tough time in my life. I found an MP3 player on a public bus, at like 9 at night (iPod was just starting to take over as the default music player, so cheap MP3 players were everywhere). The only songs on it were Feel Good Inc and Helena, and my heart was so heavy that when I listened to it, I just broke down into tears and lost myself on repeat so deeply that I missed my stop. It was worth the walk to feel something that strongly and thst grounding.
