I've always imagined The Black Parade takes place in the forties during the war. The bombs in the beginning of Mama really solidified that belief, and Gee's descending vocals at 2:11 are so cool in that they're like bomb sirens. I'm mad you can't really hear it in the original with instrumentals over it. Also the harmonies in 1:44 will never not make me weak in the knees. (In the way that it's such a beautiful layering of harmonies, especially the faint "choke on figure out" harmonization. Not the lower vocals, but the harmony really faint in your left ear. CHRIST I love that part.) Sorry for the tiny rant, I just really love dissecting songs and I love it when people strip the instrumentals or vocals away so you can really appreciate the work put into the music. :)

POV: you're the night janitor at an old English cathedral and upon entering to wipe down the pews and masonry you hear a haunting voice at the alter and you see a man with long raggedy black hair standing at the alter alone facing the 12 metre stained glass window depicting the crucifixion of Christ with moonlight pouring in. You watch from the doorway in genuine awe as from the side doors step, a man in a black jacket with an afro and a shorter man wearing a striped shirt, they join in the ghostly harmony and their echoes fill the darkened hall, the black-haired-mans voice carrying to the furthest reaches of the tall spire that stands stoically against the quiet English town. As they finish in a haunting beautiful trio you duck behind a bench as not to alert them to you presence. You slip out from the large wooden doors and slump to the floor, gazing up to the starry heavens contemplating the pure majesty you had just witnessed

Someone needs to take the audio from the first minute of this and make it the intro to the song. Put the little instrumental part that normally comes before this after, then insert the second verse. Back to cathedral audio for the first line of the last chorus, "And without you is how I-" add instruments back in the middle of disappear. Lastly, have both the vocals and instrumentation in "cathedral" style when the song begins to fade out.

The original was already amazing and eerily haunting but this version is even more desperate and emotional! Thank you ❤

3:10 to the end is just 🥺 Gerard’s vocals really break my heart, especially when he harmonizes with himself. That very last ooo that drags out at the end will always and forever wreck me and idk how to explain why.

Lyrics: To un-explain the unforgivable Drain all the blood and give the kids a show By streetlight this dark night A séance down below There're things that I have done You never should ever know And without you is how I disappear And live my life alone forever now And without you is how I disappear And live my life alone forever now Who walks among the famous living dead Drowns all the boys and girls inside your bed And if you could talk to me Tell me if it's so That all the good girls go to heaven Well, heaven knows That without you is how I disappear And live my life alone forever now And without you is how I disappear And live my life alone forever now Can you hear me cry out to you? Words I thought I'd choke on figure out I'm really not so with you anymore I'm just a ghost So I can't hurt you anymore So I can't hurt you anymore And now, you wanna see how far down I can sink? Let me go, fuck So, you can, well now so, you can I'm so far away from you Well now so, you can And without you is how I disappear And without you is how I disappear Whoa whoa (and without you is how I disappear) Whoa whoa (and without you, is how, is how, is how) Forever, forever now
