He accompanied me and my bff at the time to an MCR concert during this era and it was the greatest night of my Life. My dad said that it was one of the best shows he's ever seen. this song is so incredibly cathartic to me as an ICU nurse who worked through the pandemic and has some trauma from that. the beginning when he talks about his terrors, the lyrics "a drink for the horror that i'm in", just wanting to sleep, the end when he sees flames and people he loves dying, and that he can't ever wake up. his visceral screams at the end. that's how i felt the past 2 years. i'm glad i'm on the other side now but this song always brings back those emotions. i love it so much.

I suffer from anxiety and sleep paralysis and I CAN HEAVILY RELATE TO THIS SONG. I don't know what the true meaning behind this song is but , it hit me. Sometimes when I sleep my mind wakes up before my body and I paralysed and it's so FRIGHTENING. Once it got so severe that my body forgot to breathe and I was SUFFOCATING. I'm so glad I didn't die.
