Great video, ordered my brackets for my 17' Silverado, cant wait

If you got any questions just comment or send me a message on instagram 👍 there pretty straight forward. They come with shims as well but not every application needs them. Try the caliper without the shims to see how the caliper lines up on the rotor and if it’s centered then you don’t need the shims but if it isn’t centered then use the shims on the bracket

Quick question, where did you buy the zr1 brakes and rotor ?
@TriOrd-zo9gj Жыл бұрын
Hey, I wanted to let you know that you used your adapter bolts incorrectly. The two shorter bolts hold the adapter plate to the spindle and the two longer bolts hold the caliper to the adapter plate. If you notice how you have them now, the longer bolts are sticking out of the backside of the adapter plate, while the shorter bolts are not engaging all of the threads in the caliper. When you swap them around you’ll see that the bolts will engage all of the threads on both the adapter and the caliper and the ends of them will be flush with the opening. I highly recommend you go back and reverse them because you’re not getting the full support for your calipers. I just did this install on my truck, so that’s how I know.
@jojoswhips Жыл бұрын
Yeah when I get back from this trip I will look at it but from what I think I remember when I had the bolts reversed I think the bolt was hitting the rotor. I could be wrong tho when I get back I’m gonna check it out. Did you have to use the shims on your install? Thank you for looking out
@TriOrd-zo9gj Жыл бұрын
@@jojoswhips I did not have any bolt/rotor or bolt/caliper clearance issues installing the bolts the way I described above. I did not install the 'shims' between the adapter and the spindle because as you explained it made the caliper off-center with the rotor. Instead I used the 'shims' as washers for the adapter/spindle bolts, which required a little more machining of the caliper mounts, which was not hard to do and still left a lot of support for the caliper bolting tabs.

Just use 2019 and later Chevy 4 piston calipers and rotors Everything bolts directly up no trimming or extra brackets to buy

What lowering kit do you have I think my trucks got the same one but I’m not sure what brand it is
@jojoswhips Жыл бұрын
I believe it’s a 3/4 drop I’m not 100% sure I know the whole front is DJM and the rear has belltech flip kit with DJM shocks. I bought the truck with it all done the only thing I had to replace were the shocks since they were old. I appreciate you watching my video!

what is your rim width and offset?

An angle grinder with proper wheel would have made the job so much easier and faster when modifying your callipers. Dremels are useless except for plastics and such. Hope you were at least wearing a face shield while using that Dremel, because I have had those blade break and almost take out my eye if had not been for a face shield.
@jojoswhips5 ай бұрын
I wasn’t wearing anything but I will say I was changing the blades fairly often although an accident can happen whenever. I do have an angle grinder now which is a night an day difference. Thank you for watching btw 😎
