Insta 360 One X2 would make for a great scout camera, I just ordered one. It takes so long to setup a jib/slider w/ the DJI RS2 than planting in any random spot isn't ideal.

Yes, we made this video before it came out! But check out the article we just wrote about the Insta 360 One X2 is essential for the COVID filmmaking era: www.hurlbutacademy.com/insta360-virtual-scouting-for-the-covid-19-era/

One of the most important things to do would be to use an app to check and record the Sun path for every location. Especially for long schedules where you cannot remember it for all the locations. I would note that down along with the sunrise and sunset time on the rough plan view map. As a 1st AD, I try and schedule the shoot in such a way that the DP can film in the best possible light (time of day) for each location as far as is logistically possible, especially for daylight-exterior scenes.

awesome and simple video mate! thank you! Hey question: do you have a video that goes in depth of how to use light meters...? if you don't any suggestions? (I know I can go to the sekonic site, but to be honest they just feature their gear ... but not how to use a light meter...). Thank k you & cheers

Hi Logan, How accurate is the laser distance measurer and do we need to calibrate it from time to time for accuracy ? Thanks !

@@nicholasjude7937 super accurate. Bosch claims +/- 1/16” and that’s been true with my testing. And no calibration

Hey, so before anyone goes and starts talking crap about that little Radio Shack DMM... Ask yourself the question, does he need to know the voltage down to a microvolt? Or does he just need to know that the voltage is within spec. Though, I do recommend picking up a cheap 3 light checker if you work in the US. it'll quickly tell you if there are any wiring faults, and they are usually under $10 at any home improvement store.

Any alternative for Sekonic C-700 spectrometer? thank you 😊
@alexsprenger2809
@alexsprenger2809 3 жыл бұрын
Nowadays the C-800 would be the better choice. Sadly there are no real cheap alternatives, as older color meters usually only work well with the complete spectrum of gelled halogen lights, not with the at times very funky spectrum of LEDs.

Noise... Those damn Helium sensors are not the cleanest things in the world, even color rendition is much better around 400-500 iso.

Upgrade your kit with a laser measure tool ;)
@whengrapespop5728
@whengrapespop5728 3 жыл бұрын
A laser measure tool won’t measure how long an object is, only the distance to what it’s pointing at, so a tape measure is a little more versatile in that sense. Could of course bring both.
