Hello! Just a quick episode featuring some of my Native American bolo tie necklaces. Turquoise, from King Manassa to Sleeping Beauty and from artists Angela Lee to vintage Dishta. I hope you enjoy this first, quick glimpse at a few of my treasures from years of hunting flea markets, estate auctions, garage sales and pawn shops! My Dad was a reseller and weekends at the flee Market were common place. I used to get so mad at him because he would give me a pile of fedish and silver beads and as soon as I finish with one he would sell it before I even had time to admire my work. He later started making knives and Monroe Tahmahkera Adopted my Father because his knives were so good. After that he was allowed to stamp his knives Indian made. Sorry about making your video all about me I just wanted you to know I too have a great passion for silver and Turquoise just like you. If you get a chance look up Monroe Tahmahkera. He was the great grand kid of Quanaha Parker.

I loved the deco inspired piece near the end. What workmanship and I loved the design. Thank you for sharing all of this! I have a number of pieces that my father left me, large sterling and turquoise with claw, buckles and rings mostly. I have no idea what they would bring. My goal is to use the proceeds for them to buy a super nice piece for myself so I can remember him every time I wear it.

Thank you so much! My favorite is Native American jewelry. I love all aspects of it including the storytelling. Recently I went to a pow wow, and an artist shared the story of one of his pieces about how the Milky Way was formed. We got really emotional as the story is so beautiful.

Turquoise is one of my fave gemstone! I have a beautiful cuff bracelet that was my Aunts it’s from the 70s. All of these pieces had its own charm the eagle and lizard piece and the multi colored shield piece are just Devine. All are beautiful though! As always just love your content! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

It is funny how often the timing of the video collection you choose to share was something I was wondering about. I don’t have much knowledge of stones, which I usually picked up over the years just because I was drawn to them. The other day, I went through some of my stone pendants and found a sterling and turquoise carved winged and body Eagle! Oohhh thank you Jason! My grandpa always wore bolo's. I made him a couple of goofy ones when I was young and he wore them anyway, because he loved me. I'm from the SW and always found local jewelry boring because so many people wore it. Boy was I missing out. I sold my grandma's squash blossom and gianormous concho belt for $150 I was such a bonehead. I've studied different stones and what mines they came from for many years, but never turquoise, which I should be fluent :/ You are an absolute blessing from the LORD ❤🕊️🤗

Beautiful bolo ties!! Cerrillos turquoise comes from New Mexico. I visited a wonderful shop up in the mountains and he was Navajo and knew all the different mines, most of which he said are mined out! I've heard people use the term "Old Pawn" when they describe some Native American silver turquoise jewelry, what is your definition of Old Pawn & what is the correct use of this reference in your opinion?

It's the reason I brought the question to the person I refer to as 'my expert' (YOU!) Jason you're the person with whom I trust to know the most in metalsmithing & vintage jewelry & art & history & appraisals & of true current market values & about artists & designers & about the mass misinformation out there in regards to almost any kind of collectable anyone can think of. You're confident but not cocky, you're humble but not foolish. YOU are the only one I've ever found who can consistently show me that they're educated & experienced with all of these subjects and someone who isn't afraid to say, "I can't or won't offer you information about that because I have to do more research". If anyone wants to be able to trust someone in this world its the true test in your business, looking who will offer valuable information to you generously & share without motivation or expectations of money, but who at the same time has obviously been able to be financially successful. That's the litmus test for authentic people & trustworthiness in business, someone who wants everyone to win! You keep things separated in so many good ways Jason & you'll always keep your integrity from being called into question by the way you conduct yourself!
