I love all three of your guitars Thu Le but if I had to choose one I would go with the Alma. It has so many special features especially the 300 year old Brazilian Rosewood. Wow!!! Also, I feel that guitars with stainless frets produce more sustain. That is just my opinion of course since everybody's ears are different. However, they each have their own spirit and they all have beautiful voices.
@chopsddy3

You have acquired a wonderful pallet of sounds. The subtle differences of romantic expression between the traditionally made , German and Italian luthier’s instruments and woods are distinct and wonderfully charming. The Alma was a revelation to me. I suspected it was a double top but not Nomex. Being combined with the ancient Brazilian rosewood produced what could be considered a completely new type of instrument. It must have been like going from an acoustic to electric guitar in some ways. It’s truly amazing that such an instrument could be made from material developed for aircraft and fire resistant fabric. The guitar is amazingly powerful yet still natural and “woody”. Thank you so much! You satisfied my every question from scale length to construction and then some. I remember when the 300 year old Brazilian rosewood first became available after the export ban on logs. Old stumps were harvested and could still be exported. I have been curious about that wood for over 20 years. Again, thank you so much! I’m a fan for life.🕊💐🌹💐🕊

Thank you Maestra for the beautiful music and all of the information that will certainly be helpful to guitar students. As a non musician with an ear probably below average, after several listenings the Roemmich sounds the brightest and the Alma the warmest, with the Lodi in between. With your finesse and power, the music sounds wonderful on all three.

Beautiful sounding guitars. But for me it's the Gabriel Lodi that sounds wonderful Iam looking for a small guitar the reason is I have arthritis in my thumb joints and it's getting very painful great video Thu Le best wishes from Shropshire England 👍🌹
@chopsddy3
@chopsddy3 2 жыл бұрын
You have my sincere sympathy. I’m no “spring chicken” and have suffered with the thumb joint of my left hand. It got to the point where I couldn’t play without excruciating pain and displacement of my thumb was becoming obvious. Not willing to be satisfied with playing bottle neck guitar for the remainder of my life, I started analyzing my playing technique. I realized that my thumb placement was the problem and a big one. I developed a bad habit and reenforced it for thirty years. I was using a twisting motion with my thumb outside the chord toward the headstock instead of behind the fretted notes when playing barre chords. I had to tuck my thumb into my hand more (sort of like touching one’s little finger). My arm position needed work too. Videos by Elliot Fisk and Jack Sanders were really helpful in analyzing my personal disfunction and developing a strategy to correct it. Now that I’ve bored you with my personal problems, I’ll get to the tip I wanted to share. I made a soft, removable cast out of paper towels wrapped with painters tape. Using it, I was able to play and work on developing a better technique without pain. In fact, it worked so well that if I ever break my arm or wrist again, I may save some money and cast my self in similar fashion. I hope this helps. Good luck. P.S. Hold your thumb in proper playing position, wrap it with folded paper towel and bind it together with premium quality painters tape. Make it as heavy as necessary to offer support. It should work for you even if you don’t have a technique problem but are suffering arthritis.

@@chopsddy3 hello there and thanks it's wear and tear Iam afraid been playing since 1974 lol age related 🥺 all the best mate 👍
@chopsddy3
@chopsddy3 2 жыл бұрын
@@sonicstoryteller I hear you. I’ve been at it since ‘71’. A lot of things are wearing out here too. I urge you, in the event that the pain becomes overwhelming, to try the soft cast and a slight change in the hands playing posture. I found areas of the joint that simply weren’t as worn and used them. I’m sure that and inability to play would be as devastating to you as it was to me. So far, I’ve overcome several medicine induced mini strokes that wiped out my entire classical repertoire and forced me to learn to play all over again. (They were full of bad habits so it wasn’t that great a loss. ) Then, I blew out my thumb holding barre chords while learning rasqueado with my right hand. That’s when I learned how to use the soft cast to continue playing as I changed my ergonomics. I also had to stop sitting in the classical posture with one foot raised due to back problems. (as a life of hard manual labor can do that to a fellow) Watching Yamandu Costa was encouraging in this challenge. I can’t recommend his phenomenal work enough. He’s brilliant. If you’re not familiar with his work I encourage you to check him out. You won’t be disappointed. The point I’m trying to make is this, your a good player that loves to play . You can overcome and find new ways to continue playing by adopting new ergonomics that accommodate the state of “geezerdom” that we both find ourselves in. Dietary changes were helpful for me also regarding inflammation from wear and tear. Metal, stone and woodwork has pretty much worn all my parts down to nubs, but the nubs are still useful.✌️😁👍 Take care. It’s good to meet you.

These guitars are great, they deserve you and on the other hand, you deserve them. I've seen many vietnamese people who buy professional-grade guitars that cost $3000+ only to play very beginner level of guitar, some don't even tune their guitars properly. Though they spend their money to buy the guitars, I don't think they deserve the guitars as the guitars are made to be played in better hands.

I did start learning to play classical guitar many years ago, but because of my work as a university professor, lessons ended just half a year after. Now, after more than 40 years, I'm picking up classical guitar lessons with my Masaru Matano 400 (1974). Ms. Thu Le's lessons are indispensable. I am already indebted to you Thu Le, not just because of the lessons but also because of your exceptionally admirable personal touch. You are a very precious gift to the universe.
