I hate to say it, but it’s good her mom home schooled her. My school had a special needs program and a lot of those kids got horrifically bullied. Broke my heart because they just wanted to be treated kindly and have friends. This girl is so sweet. I love her relationship with her sister
@TG-uj6yu11 ай бұрын
Please don't hate to say it. Homeschooling is so misunderstood especially in today's world. My children are homeschooled with 20+ hours of in class instruction through a local co-op. @@TG-uj6yu well the school I went to was just horrible about bullying in general. I had to be mean just to survive because I was and still am a big girl. So of course kids like this girl who are just sweet and want to be friends with everyone were treated the worst. Which I don’t understand
@CelesteAnise11 ай бұрын
@ajayr1383 Yes there is a lot of darkness that can be associated with homeschooling. For me I was "homeschooled" But I was really just not schooled. In MS there are no tests or government making sure you are ok. I grew up in a family cult away from society no friends or taught how to navigate the world only to fear it. I also am undiagnosed adhd and autsim and have so many issues from being raised this way. Some people use homeschooling to control and keep their kids like a prisoner and no one ever knows because you are raised in such isolation and fear.

I generally trust the medical establishment when it comes to well understood and treatable medical problems. But everyone also needs a dose of skepticism. If you look through the history of medicine, every century has had thousands of cases where the medical establishment ended up being completely wrong about conditions or treatments. They're fallible human beings and this science is not perfect. Doctors are highly motivated to get their names in the medical books, having "conditions" named after them. Not every human habit or peculiarity is necessarily a condition or disease -- but I think doctors are far too quick to label everything and prescribe some pills for it.

Sad, isn't it? That in a world like this, a condition that makes you highly social and loving and warm towards everyone around you is considered a disorder. Not because there's anything wrong with that, but because of how vulnerable this makes her to the rest of this rotten world. I think everyone should be more friendly, nicer and have fun. They should choose to be kind and people should encourage the good not the bad. However disabilities like this cause a lot of problems and make life more difficult, for example struggle communicating, problems cooking meals, having a job etc. So if everyone was like this the world would not work very well at all. Plus there would be no none disabled sister, or relative, or carer who didn't have the same problem to help us.

Seeing that i'm still getting comments on this 2 months later so I guess I have to clarify what I meant. Obviously she has an actual genetic mutation and yeah that brings plenty of issues.
