Greatest money ever spent in reference to trail cameras is a solar panel for them. Absolutely life changing for sure.
@jacobgiese623 ай бұрын
I guess mine are stealth cam brand though. Put in the 8 batteries, hooked up the solar panel and let it rip. I haven’t changed the batteries in almost a year. Probably should… But that just goes to show the life of the camera with a solar panel. Again, stealth can brand though. I think I got the panel for like $40-50

This this this. You can also do a cheaper solar panel as well. Just try to put the battery in an ammo can or something so the coons don’t pull the wires out.

Bobby, purchase a battery tester. Typically only one or two batteries have died and broken the circuit to operate the camera. You will replace just a couple batteries instead of them all. Been doing it for years. Saves lots of money.@@BobbyGuyFilms

I have similar set up on all my cell cameras some will last almost a year with the 15AH battery with thousands of pictures a month. Herd360 makes some killer chew proof cables that come with extra spades and adjustable grommet to keep water out if you put in cheap ammo can

@@livingitupoutdoors8479 i dont run much for video besides early on so the 9ah lasts from beginning of july to end of season for me but also not in an area where i get 100’s of pics a day. Will start recommending the 15ah batteries now! Didnt even think about those areas that get non stop pics on feeders and stuff

So batteries, there is a price performance difference. Energizer Max are better designed for digital circuits than regular. They cost more but lastly German due to the voltage drops only after the charge drops. Like an old analog flashlight getting dim. While old style alkaline batteries will still power an old light, it will drop below low voltage for digital to work. Take those batteries that are dead in cams and use them elsewhere just fine. Also to save battery, only upload pics a few times a day, like 4 max. The transfer draws them down the most, not the flash.
