My Costa Rica trip (at last!) 🐒🍍☀️🦎

My awesome friend Whitney and I visited Costa Rica in March. This is the long overdue recap of my trip. It was an amazing adventure and I’m so glad that I went, even though parts of it were challenging. I have limited mobility and balance due to a spine surgery that I had in 2020. I have decided not to put my life on hold until I am thin enough or fit enough. I’m going to enjoy life now and do what I can. I am so grateful that I found ways to enjoy myself and have a trip of a lifetime. So many people were so thoughtful and accommodating and Whitney was the best and most helpful friend that I could ask for. Costa Rica is incredible. I saw so many amazing beaches and animals and met lovely people. It was really fun making this video and getting to relive a little bit of it and share it with you. ¡Pura Vida!

I know that I have sometimes focused on what I can't do or avoided doing something just because it was hard. I'm not willing to do that any more. I'm going to be dead a really long time so I am going to live every moment now!

The ATV was definitely outside my comfort zone. I'm pretty impressed with myself that I actually did it. I wanted to come home and buy one, it was that fun! The iguana was actually sweet and not scary at all.

I usually hate the heat, and truth to tell, I was a sweaty Betty a lot of the time. But I was so excited and it was just another part of the experience. Plus the ocean breeze is a lovely blessing when you're feeling like a roasted chickpea.

Thank you for sharing your adventure in Costa Rica with us. It sure is beautiful there. Love the beaches and the water. I live in Arizona and all we have is beach and almost no water. The animals were interesting. Think I would have kept my distance from the larger reptile. That is one big lizard!! LOL It was great that you had a daring friend with you to drive. Glad you took this trip. It will be something you remember always. Thanks again Heather and hope you will be back on here more often in the future. We miss you.

I know, I felt so silly when I heard myself on the video, I meant to say that Costa Rica has a similar climate to SOME countries in Africa. Such a huge continent has a giant diversity of climate. Thanks for calling me on it. I'd love to visit an African nation. That would be incredible.

3:35 small correction, you can drink the water, i'd be more worried about drinking the US water since the USA has a lower life expetancy than Costa Rica.

My companion drank the water and was just fine. I was super careful and I am the one who had bathroom problems. LOL You're right about it probably being cleaner than water in the US in a lot of places.
