To think that no one asked for proof, why would they just believe her without questioning?

With situations like this he should have called the cops immediately. When "Family" insist on keeping it in the family then the accused has absolutely no recourse in clearing their name. It's hard to think clearly when you're 18 - especially with this sort of betrayal. Only by having the police investigate - and expose the truth - that men can defend themselves.

You never call the cops because Men are automatically assumed to be the criminal. The man would be arrested, and the woman would walk free even after coming clean
@BrianKPatton
@BrianKPatton 15 күн бұрын
Depending on the jurisdiction, that may have worked. It could have equally failed. Once an allegation is made, even if there is concrete proof (audio/video/gps/witnesses) to refute a claim like this; once that bell is rung it cannot be un-rung. He could have called the cops. It could have ended up worse for him. But I agree; it is a giant red flag when a claim like this is made and the family wants to keep law enforcement out of it.

@@BrianKPatton Forensically, their phones would've had the chats if this was true - including pics he was blackmailing her with. The way our justice system is SUPPOSED to work is she has to PROVE he was guilty - he doesn't have to prove he's innocent. It's just lucky she was arrogant AND stupid.

@@failingartist3524 , there is more to the story. The uncle employs many members of the family, including the OP's father. this is a heavily abridged version of the original story. Also, Aunt Paula only wanted the OP to totally have complete vindication. That is a vital part of the development. She most likely is one of those women who has experience with women who make false allegations.

@@Strictly_Jake In my country we have a saying "with family it's best only in a photo and on the very edge that you could easily cut them out". This saying is not taken from nowhere. Those who were born in the Eastern Bloc understand it all too well... Which doesn't change the fact that the story is made up.

There should be consequences for the girl 1 A boy is walking down the back stairs, whistling, carrying his tools and his garbage to throw in the bin on the ground floor when a woman emerges from an office and tries to hand him her garbage. He politely declines, saying I am not a janitor. She starts screaming SA. Two guards appear like Harry Potter wizards and start to drag him towards the elevator to hand over to the cops. His colleague trailing him stops them and shows video footage from his camera showing the boy singing and jiving. The guards say sorry BUT DO NOTHING TO THE FL00ZY/ harridan WHO MADE THE SERIOUS ALLEGATION 2 A girl makes SA allegations and the bioy gets 20 years. After one year the girl is drunk and confesses to her BFF who tapes the conversation and approaches the cops. The cops FIND EVIDENCE THAT THE BOY WAS ELSEWHERE the evening she alleged the SA took place! The same older male judge releases the boy without compensation and awards the girl 12 m suspended jail time! Why are such women believed without asking for proof and why do they face no consequences

OP cannot b blamed for what he did even though the best thing to do in life is to forgive. The fact that another woman believed him and not his own mom when there was no proof to not do so is the biggest sadness in this situation , she didnt even try to. They failed miserably as parents when it mattered the most and have no right to ask for any kind of forgiveness for this. Once you fail by choice , there is no going back. They should just move on like their son did and hope that one day mayb he will allow them in his life

False accusations of such a serious crime ruins lives. False accusers make it difficult for real victims of this crime to get the help and justice they deserve. When someone is accused of this crime, or any crime, they should be treated as innocent until proven guilty. Too often the falsely accused of these crimes are treated as guilty until proven innocent. Hell, they are too often seen as guilty when it is proven they’re innocent because this accusation leaves a permanent black mark on the falsely accused are undeservedly negatively impacted in most, if not all aspects of their lives. Unfortunately Sophia is right that the system is designed highly in favor of the accuser and too often their word is taken at face value without much investigation or allowing they accused to defend themselves. When an accusation of this crime like any other comes to light, they MUST be investigated, and if the evidence strongly points to or proves guilt, there should be accountability. The accused is innocent until proven guilty and have the right to be treated fairly. Since Sophia falsely accused someone of a serious crime twice, she won’t be believed as readily since her actions labeled her habitual false accuser. It will be life the boy who cried wolf too many times. I don’t wish she has that really happen, but she will face that harsh lesson in the school of life. OP did right exposing Sophia to the family for the right reasons. I don’t blame him for keeping ties severed with those who so easily believed lies of such magnitude. They can live with that regret and the consequences associated with it. OP’s family tossed any connection with him and any of celebrating any life’s like OP’s marriage, future children, etc that they would have experienced otherwise. If I were OP, I would forgive and cut my losses so the people that wronged him aren’t renting valuable real estate. If OP hasn’t, I hope he considers going to therapy because I have a feeling he will need.
