I’ve lived alone before so I’d like to give you a snippet from my experience moving in with someone or having them move in with you………… it will get easier! Just know that for awhile most everything they do will make you want to pull your hair out (or theirs). It does get better (they’ll still do annoying things but you’ll find a way to cope and everyone will retain their hair). Best wishes on your move! 🌸🌼🌻

I'm going to be honest, I thought Jada was your roommate 😂 V happy for you figuring out what you want/don't want in a living space, including finding that you do want a roommate. I have the opposite feelings, I love living alone, but it's good to try it both ways and find out what's best for you personally. The trans cowboy was one of my favorite things from the background, and if I learn to knit soon, that would be my first project. I wasn't sure if it meant you were trans or simply trans-friendly, but happy to have you as part of the worldwide trans family!

Wanting to keep having roommates is so valid! My housemate is in his 50s, has a successful career, could afford to live alone, but actually just likes living with housemates, and plans to do it as long as he has friends who need places to live! He's a great cook too, and likes cooking for more than just himself, so I get amazing food several times a week as part of being his housemate!!

That advice about WIPs was solid. In the past few years I’ve helped my mother and grandmother (both crafters) downsize. You don’t always realize how much projects you accumulate, especially the longer you live in one place, until it’s time to move. Perhaps even more so if someone is helping you pack/move.

this reminded me of the fantastic single apartment I had in grad school. I LOVED IT. I only lived there a year, too. eventually my boyfriend moved in on top of me, so I had to upgrade the next year. oh well. it was FUN while it lasted. the apartment, not the guy. him, I eventually married. . your apartment is adorable. you're adorable. wishing you cosiness and company in your new space!

I can sympathize with loving living alone but it being super lonely. I’ve lived alone since around 2020/21 when I bought a townhome back in my home town and it did a number on me without me even noticing what a recluse I was becoming 🫥 i work from home and unfortunately a lot of my closest friends live states if not countries away, so my days could kind of run together. I’m in a lucky position where my mom (10/10 parent and my favorite person) also works from her home office most days, when I noticed my mental health kinda tanking she came over and helped rearrange by craft room to have some office space for her to come work at my house a few days a week and the change was immediate. I’m an introvert and my social battery is constantly half empty so I sometimes can forget that humans DO need SOME human interaction to keep from completely detaching from reality. On a funnier note living alone also means you’re the only bug killer and that is a harrowing experience lol

Mushrooms in plants are ok!! It means there’s good microbial stuff going on in the soil. That being said, careful not to overwater Snake plants, they love to be neglected!

I got the mainstay cube bookcases from Walmart and got 2 for like 70-80$ after shipping and everything and they work amazing. Took me about 2 hours total to assemble and mount/anchor and I just stacked them on top of each other to make it as tall as I wanted. I’m an adhd nightmare when it comes to home improvement projects but it really was idiot proof. I use some cubes on the bottom for scrap/junk/etc and hooks on the side for random things Now I can see all the yarn I have at once 😍😩
