Even though we dont have muslim holidays on a calender, almost all schools and companies allow for muslims and hindus to be away from work and school for their religous festivals and prayers!

Officially this is true. In practice, as Muslims, the azaan can be silenced. In high school I had to get a letter from the Moulana stating that it was Ramadan and that I could wear my kufi to confirm that I'm Muslim and because it wasn't part of my uniform. Islam is also associated with being a foreigner, I mean I was once asked to produce my passport by a cop at a roadblock. It was also not so long ago when Christians protested against Halaal food. Remember when Mandla Mandela married a Muslim woman and converted and how mainstream the narrative was that Islam was about replacing African culture. Also, the Law is very clear that blasphemy against the Christian version of God is illegal, hence everything I've just said can happen without any repercussions and why we are still fighting for Muslim marriages to be recognised as marriages and not civil union. So no, this country of ours is shamelessly xenophobic and Islamophobic. Even Vwelinzima Vavi complained about how we go to the Masjid on a Friday while complaining about how the Asian guys are monopolising small business. This place is very indefensible and I no longer care if it goes down because we are an evil people.

@@supremesupreme2399 🤣🤣🤣 I think you need to research the words xenophobia and islamophobia. So because they asked for you passport now they xenophobic? So because they ask you to produce a letter stating it’s Ramadan they Islamophobic ? What kind of foolery is this ? South Africa is a Christian country and yet we Christians we not respected even in school 🏫 settings ? Islamic holidays are much respected in SA for example if it’s Islamic holiday we don’t get work in school but let it be a Christian holiday oh no 🤦♂️ damn we get work what is that.

@@supremesupreme2399 Both Islam and Christianity are not African. People should stop imposing their believes onto others. South Africans are neither Islamophobic nor xenophobic, you just had bad experiences which I can assure you you'd in many parts of the world.

Tanzania is like a melting pot of tribal cultures. The country has over 120 tribes! All these cultures continue blending together creating Swahili culture. We see it growing everyday, like for example, back in the day people spoke at least 2 languages (tribal language and Kiswahili) now a days most young people speak Kiswahili as their first language and some English. I hadn't watched the whole video when i wrote to explain this. Then when i reached 9:11 he is unintentionally proving my point on the Impact Swahili language has had on Tanzanian culture (uniting).

Dagga is legal only when you do it in your private places. Racism is raw and alive just like xenophobia it is sad but true . but it is better compared to America. You should appreciate that you are in a different country & not expect that it would be the same as yours. & i don't necessarily think calling people strange is good just bcos you are not used to their culture. Because in their natural environment you are the one who is actually strange. With that being said i get that this video was made over 2 years ago & i hope you've covered most of the country by now if you are still here. We are complex, we are free, we are everything! I wish Africa had one common language. A lot of problems could have not been problems! Tanzania can be used as a case study. A country with over 120 tribes but with no history of civil wars, tribalism, religious extremism, political instabilities Nothing! In Tanzania it doesn't matter what you look like, or what your tribe is or religion. You Speak Kiswahili, i speak Kiswahili we are both Swahili people. Having a common language has taught us tolerance. Because we can communicate we can understand each other, simple! Swahili values emphasize on UJAMAA (Familyhood) Oh, how i wish more people could speak Kiswahili and learn its values people would have been more tolerant, polite and respectful 😊

Cleared yo mind countries are not the same rules and regulations legislatively,parliaments,just compare Tanzania with Sudan ,Ethiopian,Gambia, every time South Africa this or that if I can compare SA and Tanzania what it could be like? Tanzania can’t matchup with SA industrial economy,development infrastructure,nuclear technology development assemblies of cars, World Cup,BRICS agriculture Mining sports in Africa only SA produced internationally boxers cricket,rugby, food production European consume our food 60% so SA laws can’t be competed with Tanzanias
@austinkennedy98704 ай бұрын
Bro, you are missing the point, the objective is not to compare but to share experiences. Videos like these are important especially to foreigners who want to travel to SA, they get to know what to expect so as they can adapt, to know what they should do and what they should not.

I have a friend who acted like a girl while he is a man but I'm happy that he have a girlfriend because some people advised him and now he is like other men, about the cigarette it dangerous for health they do it for our own health that's why is illegal in Tanzania it may cause lung cancer so easily and do not compare it with bear because even them advisements keep telling do not drink to much it may cause you fall sleeps on load or makes you laziness ,you know our country is a developing country,trying to advise it's people focus on keeping their health good and working hard instead of doing things that refresh you now but later you suffer
