Hi i found this video very helpful. I have a few questions though. In regards to "dashback, shield grab, snapback, etc" in gamecube controllers, are there places to order controllers tested with all high marks? You mentioned battle beaver customs. Do they or anyone else test and seller high marked controllers?

Welcome back man! I'm actually working on an external mod to my controller that extends the x button down below A (think where a hypothetical third bean-shaped button would be). I've tried claw a few times and it's not working out to well for me, so I'm just making a simple little mod to it. Might post it up if it turns out well, although it's not that big of a deal.

guess i'm a year and change late to the party but I'd be interested in that R-trigger tape solution. I play claw 100% and figure working one of those out might be comfy. I don't have hand pain from the position most of the time, but if I've been pushing my hands at work/school it can be uncomfortable. I don't want to switch back though.

Hi there! I'm going to the US in 2 weeks, and I figured it would be a great opportunity to buy a controller there. I wanted to ask (if you can help me) what do you think its the safest way I could get one (in terms of shipping time, quality). I'm mostly looking for one of the originals controller (not sm4sh version). If its too hard to get one of those, do you think the sm4sh are good enough? I got a black one a few years ago and I didn't really like it at all, the triggers felt hard (had to open and sand it a bit) and I prefered my 2001 original gamecube controller at least for melee (analog stick a bit looser I suppose) Also, I'm looking at the BBC controllers and was wondering what exactly are the "pre-build" controllers? Do you think they are good? Sorry for the long questions lol, I hate buying bad controllers lol. Really like your idea of your videos! Thanks

ohhh man im so sorry it took so long to get to this :( to answer your questions: safest way is to get a used controller from ebay but really make sure you can get it in time. amazon can also work but you have to be luckier to find a really good one there compared to ebay. really there isnt a great place for gamecube controllers in the US either at the moment :( theres a shortage everywhere. you could go to a local smash scene fround you and ask if anyones selling a spare for a decent price! but besides that its all luck. local shops might have good ones for good prices or they could have bad controllers and try to rip you off. between smash4 controllers and the originals i think both are fine! i started on an original controller and now i use a smash 4 one and it works great. lots of pros also use the smash4 ones. they are just new and need to be broken in! the battle beaver prebuilts are great options if you want to go high-end. some have modifications to reduce snapback or just have cool colors. i hope i didnt answer too late!

Talking of Yu-Gi-Oh card tins, My existing laying-around Pokemon card tin could perfectly fit my GameCube controller because it’s slightly smaller and compact than Yu-Gi-Oh one.

To offer feedback, I play a claw grip and I would definitely interested in the raised shoulder button idea; also on a side note i used to play sm4sh with the Wii pro controller and i remember the shoulder buttons feeling more comfortable and i was wondering about possibly modding a swap of shoulder buttons because i know i've seen people do the same for the analog stick

to make it loose you need to open the stick box and cut the spring its pretty easy

by easy, only way to do so without opening anything up is just wearing it down to get it looser

I hope is soon! Today I cleaned my controllers and found that 3 of them had the sticks damaged. One of them melted and the circular pattern disappear, is just flat know. One has become yellow and the other is ripped on the edges. :( I want to have them back to their glorious days.

There is a controller Pack called "D Dacckit" it comes with two Gamecube ..like.. controllers it has a extra z or Lz but it has a gamecube port with no extra menu bottons just a Start button

on a regular controller it messes up the triggers the way the game reads them. they can work with smash 4, but you have to get your controller specially modified by Battle Beaver first
