I didn’t know how much I liked gorp-core until I moved to a much colder climate where I had to switch up my style to fit my living conditions. You should make a video on how fashion changes in different regions in the world.

A brand that really stood out to me lately is A kind of Guise, worth checking out! Strong colour game, mad fabrics. Stores to recommend in Amsterdam would definitely be Oallery, Tenue de Nimes and Concrete. For some vintage I would check out Concrete Matter; they are mainly into Americana/military vintage gear. Personally I love to use some of their pieces to elevate an outfit. The NXT museum in Amsterdam North would be worth checking out on a day off as well. Can’t wait to see some familiar spots in the upcoming vids!

A few months into living out of Tokyo and been taking advantage of it more and more. I've been big on more refined Japanese Designer aesthetics. No pants fit me better than the Issey Miyake Homme Plisse line up and since its more affordable out here I frequent their different flagship stores for new releases. But domestic brands out here sell a lot more affordable at second hand stores so it's great to just look at the selection of pieces that are more rare or expensive back home and taking advantage of it. Been big on Issey, Aura Lee, Lad Musician, and Kapital.

+1 for Americana/Japanese Americana. I'm a little older than you and I'm an engineer that works with blue collar workers, so classic Americana is my go to for a timeless, business casual look that I can work in some more fashionable pieces from some of the MiA and Japanese brands. Kind of like a grown up workwear in a sense. I'm all about vintage RRL right now. Edit: to add, I have been heavy into the solid black/earth tones the last couple years and while I think it works for me (I don't like bright colors and most patterns) Ive started to work in a pop of color here and there. Like I just picked up some super dope vintage Paisley button down shirts (one in brown/cream, one in grey/cream, one in maroon/gold/Forrest green) and wear them underneath a chore coat or similar jacket. Kind of is like a modern version of a cowboys paisley neckerchief/bandana.

I also used to be into strictly tonal looks and I found a good way to introduce color for me was through my footwear. I would even buy separate laces to just add that tiny pop of color I wanted

@@wystan8995 same man, it can be hard to find the right shade bc I don't like it to be too flat orange or too brown but I have a couple pieces that are great. One being the Taylor stitch jack Cone Mills cord in tobacco. Really unique material, instead of regular corduroy it looks like if you'd take two slim verticle rows of the corduroy threading and twisted them together to form a single, spiraling cord. Apparently they used one of the last bits of material from the mill before it was closed. I really like a lot of Taylor stitch's pieces, especially the unique materials. I know they could be considered basic to some people really into fashion and current trends, but a lot of their pieces fit my personal style really well which I think is ultimately more important than going with the new tic tok fashion trend that's going to look dated in 15-18 months

I'm gonna try to keep this concise lmao... it really starts with Timdessaint. That dude is a fashion whiz. He was the one who made me fall in love with chelsea boots and turtlenecks. One of my biggest style inspirations are KZbin channels, and rn I would say that the ones who influence me the most are Timdessaint, Harry Has, TheModestMan, and... you. You in particular have introduced me to some very interesting people and brands, like CanoeClub or raygmiah. My love for chelsea boots is the other biggest inspiration for my style journey. What was originally just a search for a good quality, good value boot turned into me having an extreme appreciation for footwear.(very funny how one thing leads to another) Some people just see an expensive boot, I see the workers hand-crafting my boot, its heritage, history, the unique leathers, the tannery, the founders of companies, the animals used to make a boot, and the construction. It's honestly beautiful to look at the heritage of old shoe makers, or seeing up-and-coming brands shake the game. I build my outfits starting from bottom-up meaning that my choice of footwear for the day is going to define the rest of my outfit. Since I got into old-timey service boots, I've been leaning towards Americana and Japanese Americana(please make a video about that). And when I wear chelsea boots I tend to lean to the more modern/dapper side of fashion. Lastly, I've realized that fashion is more than how you look, it's also about the vibe you give off. Clothing has history and meaning behind it, and what you wear is almost like the story you tell. Ik it sounds cheesy but if you think about it, it's also true.

What Jerry and Kanye did in 2015-2017 with Grudge has been my fashion inspiration since 2015. Work wear cause it’s madd accessible in thrifts here in Indiana and I love things made in the USA. NB v5 are my favorite because they give me the 2016 runner aesthetic like the Y3 pure boost or ultra boost, and I love American Heritage brands. Carhartt, Dickies, Levi’s, Hanes Adidas. All that was to say Grudge. Sara Gilbert , Kurt Cobain and Steve Jobs are all people I look to for outfit inspiration. Also this isn’t related but Noname is my favorite rapper, I love you Noname.

well done Drew. fit + utility are critical for me. how does it compliment my body shape, do I feel good wearing it, does it do the job - warmth, breathability, protect against weather/elements, no things that pi$$ me off like scratchy, uncomfortable, pulls/tears/bunches up in wrong places, etc. if i can source used or from a local even better...stay up bless

Been into workwear since 2018 mainly due to financial accessibility, it’s dress up/ dress down versatility, and it’s empty-canvas like balance to have eyes drift towards my footwear (of which I spend most of my clothing cash). At first I was all into mixing and mashing different types of sneakers (predominantly Nike: Jordan’s, af1’s, air max line) but have begun to evolve and transition into the realm of new balance and doc marten (definitely started post college as well, 2021). Nonetheless I completely agree with your take on sustainability and purchasing second hand. My love for second hand vintage and art has also progressed into the integration of self expression in my clothing as well, we’re talking doing my own custom alterations with pants, button up’s, jackets, and even sneakers (to which I’ve had some nice lil success). All in all, my love for the materialistic has slowly digressed into a more fond appreciation of diy and custom work to both embrace the niche of sustainable fashion while continuing to stand out from the bubbles “tote-boy loving”, “Pinterest addict”, and “expensive-consignment only-type” of heads that have over-saturated the socal region.

I personally really like your channel and it's whole ethos and what it brings to the KZbin space, I constantly look forward for your vlogs and pick up vids. Also, I really really really like those brands you often showcase on your channel, the alds, jjjjjjjjjjjjounds and other, but I live in mauritius and those types of brand are completely inaccessible for me, but when shopping for new garms I try to tend towards pieces which carry the same " vibe" of those brands, I think that I owe a lot of this perspective to you and other creators that I've been able to get this widened perspective and mindset. So I like to thank you my g and really hope you get more recognition.

I been more into vintage a lot lately, single stitching, old tags etc. I love vintage right now I love the fact that I get to find tees that people won’t have and how old it is. Everything about vintage is just my favorite right now. I’m expanding my style a lot and making it a” mature look” my style from a year ago to now is so much more different, my last year style was having prints on my jeans bungee cord jeans 😭 pants like that and really loud shirts. my style now is like nice straight jeans, nothing crazy on the jeans, converse nice faded black shirts or white or sudden faded washed colors like green etc. my shoes I’m expanding to more into boots I just bought my first converse a month ago and I love it so much the converse for me is like the shoe that made me get into boots and soon will buy boots and I love my converse and best shoe I have right now, I used to buy Jordan’s and dunks and now I regret buying them it’s not me anymore and hate wearing them I only wear them if my girlfriend ask me too “happy wife happy life” (except gf) but yeah I have too kinda thing if she asks me too🙄 but it’s okay because it makes me like wow because like it used to by my style kinda thing so it’s cool wearing it again. But this felt good writing this down I don’t have friends and I can’t really express this to anyone about the love of fashion except my girlfriend but idec if people don’t read this I’m just glad to write this down. :)

In Amsterdam, you should visit these stores: Patta, Sumibu, Commes Des Garcons, Stussy (all on Zeedijk). Ben-G, Daily Paper, Solebox and Filling Pieces are also very nice. For vintage definitely check out the Waterlooplein (the market) and Episode (name of a vintage shop). Hit me up if you want me to show you around in Amsterdam. I am from the Netherlands ! Much love. And great vids as always!

I know this city isn’t actually in the Netherlands (it’s very close tho), but if you have the time go to Antwerp. Some crazy stores are located there + a lot of smaller more unknown brands/stores

Maybe you could make a KZbin video at some point talking about how skate culture has had a massive influence on fashion… especially when it comes to baggy/wide fitting pants

If possible could you do a intro to Japanese Americana? Like entry level pieces would be cool, I want to get into the style more but don’t want to spend a boatload on a style I’m not 100% will fit
